Wedding Banquet and Vendors Review

I have created this post to let you girls share your past reviews for your wedding.

Let me start with mine :)

I had finally graduated on Feb 2017 and would like to recommend my awesome vendors to you girls.

1. Banquet Venue: Temasek Club (4/5) My coordinator was responsive with my request as my wedding date was approaching nearer. I got to admit the service level will not be as good as hotel coordinator as I was usually the one who initiate the request like asking for deco to choose from. However, their vila was epic unlike standard hotel room in other hotels. Most importantly, it was their exclusive banquet venue that determine my choice to sign with them as they only have one high ceiling ballroom and I do not need to share the same venue with other couples.

Furthermore, they even gave me an option of T stage to add on which made my march in looked more grand and we felt like a superstar. If you were to choose Temasek Club, it is totally worth the few hundred dollars to top up the T stage.

However, it was a huge disappointment to speak to their new vendor (Rustic and blue circle theme which only looked better with Temasek Club special effect heart lights) when I asked for other designs. She just called to tell me either I take these two themes or stick to old vendor (Fairylights theme and looked much nicer). No regrets taking back the old vendor which looked so much nicer in real life than photos in fact.

On the AD, I was surprised that there were small bites served at cocktail area before guests were sitting as it was not included in my package.

My banquet coordinator for that evening was Nizham and he did an awesome job coordinating the things smoothly.

2. Bridal Studio: My Bridal Room (4.9/5) I had signed with them through recommendation of my best friend who also signed with them with her another couple friend. She told me she had visited countless of studio and MBR gave her the best feeling in terms of sincerity.

My another best friend (who is looking for pre wedding photo package) and myself went to the studio and we were served by Grace and Uncle Quek (I think he is a shareholder there). During negotiation, he said to us that MBR works by not having unknown hidden cost to clients unlike other bridal studios.

Their service was also excellent but the only cons is that I received my selected edited photos later than promised because they are more packed for month of December. So is good to settle everything before December.

3. PWS and AD Make Up Artist: Cecilia (From My Bridal Room) (5/5)
She is a very skilled MUA and even used a sponge on her hand to rest her hand on my face while putting makeup. I think it was very considerate of her to make the bride feel comfortable during putting makeup process.

She will change her makeup style depending on the bride face shape and determine what is the makeup that suits the bride best. So she is good with different style of makeups instead of just one fix style (She did a totally different makeup of my friend with thicker eyeshadow and mine is more japanese sweet makeup style)

Even when I told her I am not using her ampoule, she did not give me nasty or pushy comment to use her ampoule which would be chargeable if I use hers.

On AD, she did finished my makeup in only half an hour before rushing off to other bride makeups but Jia Wen (Assistant with MBR) stayed on to help me to put on my veil and do final touchup before the groom arrive.

4. MUA for MIL on AD: Apple (My Bridal Room)
I had asked Cecilia to do makeup for my MIL as well but she will need to rush off to perform makeup for other brides. She introduced me to Apple who arrived at same time at Cecilia before my solemnisation starts in evening.

I felt it was my best decision in my life to engage apple who is from My Bridal Room as well. After Cecilia rushed off, she stayed on to help me touch up my makeup without additional charge as she was still waiting for my MIL to arrive .

5. AD Photographer and Videographer: H&V photography(Haige) and Jian from Simply Videography (5/5)

I had engaged them 16 months before my wedding date even before my banquet location was decided. I met up with two other PG vendor (which I shall not name her) and one of them even asked to postpone our arranged meeting. If they can ask to postpone an arranged meetup let alone on my AD? Thats y I chose H&V instead as I like the style of his photos which is mainly focus on capturing the moments rather than just posing.

Futhermore, the VG is also his friend so it was easier to communicate just to Haige alone instead of going to two vendors. They were both able to help each other like holding the lights.

Haige even went an extra mile by helping me carry the deco up to the banquet hall which was definitely not part of his job scope.

Most importantly, the VG and PG remembered every detail I told them even few months before my wedding via whatsapp such as my request for reflection photos and focus on my Hello Kittys. Hence, it is also important to tell your PG exactly what photos you like as you do not have any chance to check the photos on AD.

6. Wedding Car: Vintage Beatle Car (5/5)

I knew them through Budget Bride and they are one of the most reasonable priced wedding car pricing upon comparison.

I wanted something cute and special and unique as I feel BMW and Mercs are very common wedding cars and I will have chance to sit in such cars in future.

They let us choose the car deco from their three designs which I think it looks nicer than some bridal studio car deco.

The driver is also very familiar with the car and road which make us felt very comfortable on road.

7. Nail Manicurist: Jocelyn Kwan Nail Salon (5/5)

When I showed her the nail design which I prefer, she was able to do even better than the photos I showed her. Even with all those big studs and nail extension and household chores, my nails was able to last 2 full weeks before I decided to remove as I was not comfortable with nail extensions :)

Although her price are slightly steep, she had a room in her own house at Tampines just for her nail manicure business and even my own TV to watch.

If you are looking to have comfortable environment and good skills for nails and fast reply from manicurists, she is totally recommended.

8. Prewedding and AD customised short evening gown: La Vita Brides (5/5)
[email protected]
I have sent email to countless tailors on the design I want for my shortgown and they are the only freelance home based tailor bridal shop that responded they are able to make my gown at $660. I had asked my own bridal studio and they charged me $1300 for the same short dress.

Although it was not 100% similarity with the photo I sent them, it looks nice and cute to me.

9. Justice of Peace: Mr. William Cheong (5/5)

[email protected]

I had engaged him about 9 months before my AD via email and he replied almost instantly that he is avaliable before my wedding date, although I had emailed him at 11.30pm.

On AD, my Solemisation started half an hr later and he was willing to wait for us without complain.

Moreover, he is bilingual in both english and Chinese and even made effort to pronounce our name properly.

10. Deco: Shaun & Hera Signage
Instagram: @esthergraphy (5/5)

I was looking for wedding deco and found her shop at carousell initially. Her caligraphy was really nice as well. She even helped me to wrap my signage really nicely.

11. Live band: Once Upon A Note (5/5)

I knew them through budget bride and their price are really very reasonable whenI I booked them last year.

They reached earlier to the venue for rehersal and even my bridesmaid was surprised how I was able to find live band cum emcee. Totally recommended as well!

12. Princess Carriage Photobooth (6/6)

[email protected]

I had enquire many other carriage rental and they charge me easily $600 to $800.

I found them through budget bride again.

My photobooth was a hit even without engaging someone to help guest to take photos there. Everyone just took selfie and went up to take their own photos :)

I even used it as my first march in during banquet.

You girls can PM me for more details and more photo samples :)

Did you mean Temasek Club?

I did banquet style and the food was good!
Perhaps is becoz I only had 15 tables so the quality was good for all tables
