Hi Usha, which deco company did you go with? How did you compare? I'm just starting...
Hi Veena went to quite a number of deco companies actually, and eventually we settled with one . I guess there were cheaper options, but we liked a particular mandap design thus made our decision based on that. My suggestion is that, look through the fb pages and discuss with your partner on the concept you would like. If you like those mandaps, then budget minimum 4k for entire deco. If just full backdrops which is nice as well, I think can settle for 3k plus. Do meet all of them in person. they have much more pictures to show you compared to those uploaded in FB. I spent almost a month just with all these appointments. It was easier when discussing as partner and myself had an idea on the concept before we met them. Quotations take up to one week for most of them to get back to you

Hi Shamini Dec bride as well. Your date? Suggest you act on it fast as December is a hot month for weddings. Book your Venue and MUA first. Prioritize your photography as well. Most deco companies can do more min 2 bookings so my opinion is prioritize that later. Just my humble suggestion! When I booked my temple in Dec 2015, some dates for Dec 2016 already booked. In Jan this year, my MUA already had bookings for early Dec. Found it hard to get a good videographer who wasn't already booked as well.

Hi @Veena & @Shamini Raj !
I agree with what @Usha says.. Settle quickly ur venue, deco n MUA first.. these probably should be on ur priority list.. alot of the deco companies that I went to are already getting bookings for Dec n early next.. same goes for videographers n photographers.. they are usually booked quickly.. As for me.. I have just cfmed my MUA n Photographers/Videography.. trying to settle my deco soon.. after this I can breathe awhile already n focus on other stuff slowly.

Hi Usha, thanks for your advice especially about figuring out the concept first. It helps to know the ballpark prices for mandaps and backdrops too!

Hi Santhya, thanks for the advice! Any recommendations for MUA, deco, video/photographer?
@Veena, you could try Mahes / Ananthy.. quite good in their work..do go for ur trials before deciding on one.. check out hidden costs like rental sets deposits..

Deco wise is hard to recommend dear cos it really depends on the type of concept that you prefer.. like what Usha says, it is best that you speak to the deco guys before deciding one..

For video/photography.. most of them go to Studio A or Amore.. Sathia (Studio A) is really helpful. discuss ur needs and budget with him and he would be able to advise what can be done within it... From what I hear in this thread, I think Olive Frames is also good to consider. For mine, I have booked with Pixel Frames and Birabu Photography... So yap.. u can try out these and see who you feel confident with.. i think u have a pretty long way ahead.. so make use of the time that u have.. All the best in your planning dear..

Hi dear, for MUA, u can try Ananthy or Looks Studio! Very professional and such down to earth MUAs.
Food - Mayura catering, I can assist you with that
Photography and videography - I engaged from Malaysia, really good though and trust worthy

Pandora krish is a very reliable guy, i have booked him for my decors tho i have not gotten their quotation yet. Hopefully they dont cost me a bomb. I have a not so nice experience with divine decos. They will agree to meet up with you and they go missing and you need to chase them.

I am also searching for a good emcee and Dj. I have gotten 2 emcees shortlisted, Sathish and Suren. Have u ladies heard of them or engage them bef? They both offer affordable charges.:confused:

I have seen suren at one of my fren's function! He is quite good dear!
