Yah..I'm afraid it will be a bit awkward w so many ppl waiting and the room is quite small. But I didn't want them to rush around..

I dont think the hotel will allow outside catering as they will expect you to cater the food from them.

I think some hotel do allow. But to provide the food, means you will rent a venue from the hotel? If the food is to be used at their venue, then they will need the 3rd party to sign an indemnity form. But if it is in your bridal suite... Hmmm, is abit like da bao, I think should be okay bah.

the hotel provides a room for tea ceremony & solemnisation apart from the banquet ballroom. so I thought it will be good if I can put some snacks like dim sum for the elders to eat before lunch..

Hi all

I am doing a wedding lunch and solemnisation too. Really headache about the schedule and gowns
I have only 2 gowns from bridal studio - 1 white gown and 1 evening/lunch gown

My plan is below, let me know if this works

530am: Makeup
730am: Gatecrash start
9am:Reach Groom's house
930am:Leave for hotel
1015am:Reach hotel and start touch-up and perhaps change hairstyle
1145am:Tea ceremony start
12pm: Cocktail start
1245pm: Solemnisation and cut cake
115pm: Lunch start
230pm: 2nd march in with photo montage, toasting and speech
330pm: Lunch ends

My problem is I don't know if I should wear the white gown throughout from morning till after solemnisation.
It's a fluffy gown which is not easy to move around. And I have my tea ceremony before solemnisation. Wearing this will be quite inconvenient.
But I don't think I have enough time to change into tea dress and change back to white gown again before solemnisation.
Is it weird to be wearing the white gown the whole morning even on the way to hotel??

And do you gals think the MUA will change my hairstyle for my solemnisation? I suppose in the morning she will tie my hair up and for lunch they probably will let it down? But I prefer my hair to be tied up, will it be weird to have the same hairstyle but just change the hair accessory?

Seems like your schedule is quite packed, I don't think you'd have enough time to change back into white gown after tea ceremony. I'm actually gonna wear my white gown for the whole morning right up to first march in too so I don't think that's weird

How many looks is your MUA doing for u? From your schedule it looks like only touch up before lunch? I think it's fine to just change the hair accessory. Plus you're probably just having close family/ friends at solemnisation...

Hi Lemons

Same here I don't think I want to waste time changing in and out of the white gown.
Is yours the "pom pom fluffy kind"? I am just worried I will dirty it otw to hotel and then it will look dirty during first march in and it's quite inconvenient to sit in it throughout.

My solemnisation is done at the lunch itself on stage so it will be viewed by all 170 guests! Actually I like my hair being tied up so I guess I will just change the accessory for first march in and have it last throughout the whole lunch. The MUA is supposed to be doing only 2 looks - the morning one and before lunch/dinner.
Although strictly speaking for lunch, it's not a total makeover of the look, it's just a touch up, plus if I request for my hair to stay the same she doesn't have to do much for second look.
Maybe I can squeeze them to have the MUA stay on till second march in....

Hi it's not a matter whether she doesn't have to do much for the 2nd look. Your MUA by staying for your 2nd March-in is missing opportunity cost too. She could have gone to another wedding makeup. So not likely they will not charge you.

Does anyone have any idea on the wedding lunch banquet (course dinner not buffet) schedule? Gate crash, tea ceremony , photoshop with bridesmaids and groomsmen, solemnisation and lunch banquet? I know it's all gonna be a huge rush... If it's too messy, maybe I might arrange another date to solemnise at the ROM itself...?

Mine was a wedding lunch and we did all, including ROM on the same day.

We check in to the hotel a day earlier as me and my hubby are staying too far from each other. Foresee it will be really rush so tats y we check in a day earlier.

Gatecrash was done from a room to room type and i went back to his place only after the banquet ends. His parents are agreeable to that.

Overall it was quite smoothly executed and was not tat rush afterall if all was done within the hotel

I have a question...

In the event that i hold the solemnization in a condo function room with buffet, how do we write the invitation card in a way such that people are not inclined to underestimate (pay too little) angbao money?

To hold in condo function room, the cost is only on the food and decor. Decor, is for yourself, you can always do without it or DIY. So, the cost shld not be pass on to your guests. Roughly only need to fork out extra 2-3k.
If you dun want to "lose" so much, order 40 pple buffet, invite 50 pple...? Or order from a cheaper caterer. But on your big day, I'm sure you wouldnt want to be deemed as cheapo couple.

As for invitation card, maybe you can emphasize "sumptuous lunch/dinner will be provided."

PS. Like what some pple says, for them to come, they are actually giving you face already. Shld not use it as a mean to earn quick cash.

I agree... I think now adays how people bao is also according to the relationship. So let's say your wedding can be at Capella, but if you invite all the people ya not close, expect to have a loss. If your wedding is at some restaurant but the people u invite are really close, they will bao more than your break even..

Hi everyone,

I'm in the midst of preparing for my wedding lunch next year and would like to have some reference for the wedding lunch schedule itself.

Can anyone sent me their copy of wedding lunch so I can reference and roughly guess how much time should I allocate :)

My email: [email protected]

Appreciate and thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! Just want some advice from you guys! Since most of us are having wedding lunch, can I check, did you all play the video of the gate crash during the luncheon? Or just the childhood montage without the gate crash video? Thanks!

Gatecrash video too rush for lunch. Some video companies can accommodate a rush version but have to pay urgent fees. I showed 3 videos which my fren made for me. A quick 1 min video introducing me and hubby. A montage of our wedding pics and some casual shoot our fren did for us. And last video our Maldives pre honey moon pictures. Din show childhood pics coz don't want it to be the conventional way.

Thanks for the reply ladies! I tried asking around for the gate crash video and yes, we have to pay for an additional photographer(meaning two photographers). One to follow us around for the video and the other to edit..

Hi Just to Check is it ok to do solemnisation after the lunch banquet? Anyone hear something bad or has anyone see any couple did this before?

Hi all! I'm planning my AD lunch schedule for next year. I don't plan to have any childhood montage, and I'm considering whether to have gatecrash highlights (htb and I still debating on whether to get VG). Is it okay or too boring if I have neither montage nor highlights?

In addition, how long will MUA normally take for 2nd look? I'm afraid it will be too rush for my 2nd look.

Hi actually there is sufficient time for the gatecrash video to be shown. My gatecrash ends at 9am. Vg will go and edit, and come back at 1pm to pass us the video highlights. However, we won't be getting him to film the solemnisation and tea ceremony from 1030am to 1130am. We will only have pictures for this portion.

I see..but did you go to both parent's house? And also, did you take photos with the sisters and brothers? Thanks!

I did my tea ceremony at the hotel, because my husband stays at admiralty and I stay at tampines. It is too rush if we had to go to both parents house as the journey would take almost an hour. Both parents agreed that doing the tea ceremony at hotel will be better.

I only took photos with the brothers and sisters at my void deck haha. Though Pg said that we can take photos at the botanical garden after the wedding lunch, we declined as there are many admin stuff to settle after that.

Yes! That's what we thought at first! We planned to do the tea ceremony at the hotel. However, my mum insisted that she needs us to come back to my house after going to my htb's house. She said that its a tradition that she has to cook something for him to eat. Both sides are agreeable to having tea ceremony at the hotel. Just that I feel its a waste of time traveling here and there when we could've just go to the hotel straight after we go to my Htb's house..

Is it possible to do tea ceremony at my house first before heading to groom's place?
This is to save travelling time.
Furthermore, I think the tea ceremony will only be involving parents, minimal relatives.

I plan to do that! Doing at my house first for my parents then to his house. Rest of relatives will be at hotel. Otherwise it will be too rushed..

You may want w yr mua if 1 hr 15 min is sufficient for her cos I understand may take quite long. Are u changing any clothes or makeup before solemnization? If yes, half an hr may nt b enough. Because i think u still need to touch up? Same for tea ceremony..if many relatives may be half an hr too short..
