Hi caren_c! My AD is 19 Nov 2016. How about you? Have you done your photo shoot yet? Could you pm me your package and the price if you don't mind? :)
 


Can anyone share what are some must-bargain perks at wedding or bridal fairs? For BS.. Looking at Rico-a-Mona and z wedding in particular..

That's good :)) hmm, I think if you can nego for extra night, free flow beer that's would be perfect. My package at crowne includes 2 barrels of beer,2 nights stay, 1 bottle house wine per confirmed table, day room for helpers, extra room for tea ceremony. Basically Crowne does not have that many perks compared to some other hotels we visited.. But the reason my fiancé and I went for it was because they met all our needs. There is only one ballroom, ie they will focus their attention on you :) nice ballroom with high ceiling, nice private holding area and tea ceremony room, outdoor garden solemnisation which was what I always wanted, convenient for our guests whether they are coming by taxi or train, and good food reviews from imperial treasure...

I think you should discuss with ya fiancé what you both really need, then nego with them.. Like if ya doing a lunch, then the alcohol not so important? Since not everyone drinks in the day! Haha

Hello! This is DIY myself, it took me one week to complete. I spend around $180 for the Swarovski and those items I used. If u buy it outside will be costly, about $250 and above. Just think it sis. Cheers!!

Ask for more photos for z wedding.. I only got 30.. but try to see if you can get more.. and bargain for lower price? Give you a tea ceremony dress also. Ask for additional photo with frame?
 
@klijing_sg @effie05 can try asking but I don't think Z will give in more photos. Initially it's only 24 in the package though. But no harm asking for more. (:

Z with provide you w tea dress/kua if you ask for it. It's not inclusive in the package but they will provide. ((:

@caren_c I signed up with them last year at BOWS. Lol! I believe they can give minimum 30 photos. But no harm trying to bargain more I guess. Last time they wrote 28.. but ended up giving 30. We tried to bargain for more but failed.. We asked why cannot give more.. They said their photos cannot be compared to other bridal companies where they can give you a lot of photos.. so I guess push for the price to be cheaper..

I guess it's a gimmick to make ppl feel that their package actually is very little and how they can give more. Haha. It's the same across all the other bridal stores..
 
Try to bargain for more pics. Just selected my pics ytday. Went with the intention not to top up but ended up with 8 extras. oops. Lucky is we are so bad at posing and my hair was getting messy with the wind blowing outdoor that we eliminated quite a number of pics...otherwise i think the damage will be much more..LOL. So bargain for more pics if u can. ;)
 
anyone has st regis wedding package to share? and what perks have u all negotiated for?

btw, is avoiding long weekend and June holidays a good idea for AD? in case guests wanna travel overseas..

Coz I wanted to take up their bridal package with Chris Ling photography... anyone knows how much would such a package cost? Comparing Z Wedding and Le Grand Wedding, which is better?

Otherwise, I was also thinking of just taking the package w/o pg and vg and just outsource on my own. Anyone have reviews on Andriods in Boots or any other recommendations?

I did mine all without package actually. I rented my wedding gowns in KL then I engage a photography studio in SG. This is because I detest hard selling and I heard so much horror stories and since both of us are working overseas, we don't really have the luxury to keep chasing vendors for answers on the phone. So really lucky for me, I managed to hire a good bridal house and a good photography studio. I got back 838 digital photos, all edited less than a week!

When we booked our banquet, we wanted to ensure we avoid major holidays, school holidays and long weekends in case people are planning any trips ;)

@klijing_sg do u mean bargain for a lower price per photo or for the whole package? I think I wanna sign during some wedding fair or show coz should be able to bargain better at those places rather than the boutique itself, yes?

Anyone going to the bows outdoor wedding showcase at dhoby ghaut green on 2-4 oct? I know it's still a long way... There's one coming up at marina square foyer.. Maybe go see see look look :)

If you have the intention to sign with Z wedding.. They normally appear during bows or have showcase at their boutique.

Actually what I meant was bargain for both the price and perks.. but I guess sometimes can't have the best of both worlds.. so whichever works for you.. The only down side is spending on extra photos which you need to be mentally prepared.. but it applies at all studios also.

I booked long ago so as to lock in prices low as the price will keep increasing over time.

That's my view..

Yes, as the bridal shops think they have like a 'sales target' commission? Ala-carte think mostly no hidden costs or at least less.

My fiancé and I decided to all go ala-carte except for banquet will go for hotel instead of venue as catering I think will be huge headache if it is location.

Isn't it risky to do makeup trial on ROM, what if it doesn't turn out well.. :/ But it's a good way of saving cost (correct me if I'm wrong.. need to pay for makeup trial right?)..

Hey dear, no need to pay for trial make up.. Only if u don't like the make up and request for a change of 'look' then need to pay.

the double boiled soup is good too. which one did u try at the open house? i got the ginseng and birdnest one for my banquet. the crab and mantou were quite good during my banquet too. lots of guests requested for additional mantous esp the kids. haha

Z wedding is probably the most inflexible shop i ever met. they refused to let me transfer my package and when i offered to pay them a nominal sum to allow me to transfer, they refused as well. when i said i wanted to change my gowns last minute to something else in the package, they refused as well saying that they are losing out on income by not renting the gowns out. not very sure what is the business model of z wedding (first they dont want to earn the additional money, second they say they are losing money)... they are just INFLEXIBLE and just out to earn people's money without sparing a thought for their customers. thought wedding business was a happy thing but nah, they are just out to make ur life difficult.
however, if you like their gowns and would like to take up their package, please read all terms and conditions carefully. their package is non-refundable, non transferable and non exchangeable.

Oh dear.. I'm sorry to hear what you went through but thanks for giving me a heads up.. I only know that if you want to change gown after you have decided.. you need to pay an extra of $300..

I also think it depends on who you liaise with in the store.. Some are a little more flexible and some are not.. They are just a well known brand due to Chris Ling Photography.

Hihi! I'm a 2016 feb bride, just booked my venue too.. Gonna pay deposit tomorrow. Still browsing bridal shops :)

I may be a March or May bride.. haven't fix with the hotel yet.. So not much faster than u haha..
But yeah, start sourcing for BS soon so that you have more time to explore and search for your perfect gown! :)

I only realised it's popular when both my banquet and bridal coordinators commented "wah another May btb. so many ppl choose May 2016."
 
i'm gonna reply the coordinator for banquet venue this weekend. and book solemnization venue also.

Won't be tossing it. Cos Expensive prefer to keep. Make it for evening dinner... Morning session using fresh flower...
