Question on Solemnization Procedure

Hello!

was just wondering, we were thinking of doing a western style of outdoor solemnisation, and I see on pinterest, that usually the groom wont see the bride before the ceremony.. does anyone have any ideas how can we can do the western concept into our singapore style wedding?

I did my solemnisation at the start of the banquet, so the groom will be waiting at the solemnisation table, while I come in later with my dad. Groom will be there earlier to welcome guests.

thanks @bearine thats a pretty good idea.. but for us, we saw the geomancer and they actually advised for the signing to be done between 7pm to 9pm.. i think a bit late and tight, so we are using the 11am to 1pm slot to do our solemnization...

Mine was the same time slot. My first march in at 7pm. Banquet starts serving at 7.30pm, but my banquet was a small one. My pastor didnt talk too long. Some banquet even start at 8pm. By 10pm, the whole event ended. :)

wow! that's really good timing bearine.. i think the hard part is getting everyone to reach before 7pm...:p my friends said guests usually arrive from... 7.30?! lol...

@StrawberrieShortie hello again.

my fiance and I are also "sort-of" doing our solemnization western style (rojak mix a bit Singapore and a bit western style haha)

Well, he is a Westerner, and so their culture is that the groom will not see the bride in the wedding gown until the solemnization on AD. So my fiance did not follow me when I went to try gowns, I always went with my girlfriends or alone.

BUT, we are doing pre-wed shoot (which most westerners don't do), so he'll see me in a gown, so I will wear a different gown for AD.

On AD, we are probably doing gate-crash, so I'll wear my cheongsam instead, for the picking up bride and tea ceremony.
Then before dinner, we do our solemnization at the garden lawn at Alkaff Mansion (1 of the main reasons why we book Alkaff ;) ), so I'll march-in in my white gown, the 'first' time he see me in my wedding gown.

haha our arrangement probably kinda weird, but lucky both our parents are not superstitious or anything, so we just do it the way we want to :D

I have that timing of 7 to 9 too. No choice but to do mine at 7. Very rush. Same day as my dinner somemore. The afternn is worse.. n on a friday!!
