Beegirl: yeah! Where is your venue?

Does any of u have any idea if the si Dian Jin is to be wore on AD or there is no chance to wear at all? Cos I choose all double happiness design and was told it is to be place on the bed for show?!?!
 


BB : Our banquet is at swissotel stamford. Hmm, i'm not teochew so not that sure about si dian jing but i saw my friend is wore them during tea ceremony. Depending on ur family?

Hi BB, not sure if this may help, I wore it after changing into Kua for tea ceremony (to gain brownie points from my in-laws :D ). Placing on the bed for show may not be a good idea i thought especially if you are expecting lots of guests and kids moving in and out the house...

Think I will wear it for tea ceremony too. Since my soon to be MIL said it is to be place on the bed for show, I will wear it in the room while changing into that red traditional dress. Juz take from the bed n wear then.

I'm a nov bride too. I've a brand new gown to let go, long lacy train with beads/crystal designs. PM if interested!
 
Finally had my photoshoot! Phew~ One down and many things to go....

khanompang: I wasn't able to get the tulips to be my backdrop coz they were not blooming when we were there. But I didn't regret going into the Dome coz we saw one of the photos that our photographer took inside and we both fell in love with it. Haha.. I'll share some of the photos once I'm added into the FB group. I let my MUA decide on the hairstyles and I kinda like what she did for me. I told my fiance I'm worried that I might be tempted to buy more photos.

Wow.. the canvas one seems to be really good. So how much extra are you paying for it?

Beegirl: I will be holding my banquet at MBS. Do you still need any help for VG? I am using a VG who did my sister's wedding a few years ago and I thought he was quite good.

Hahah good luck in choosing your photos but remember to control yourself on spending too much on extra photos cause they will end up in the storeroom(what i always hear from my friends). Hmm, i kinda decide on the VG already but haven got a reply on the availability so possible to let me know the contacts? :)

Due to some problem, Me and my husband decided to push our wedding to 2014.
And i had already booked my AD MUA for 13 Nov 2013, She dont accept change of date. So i have no choice to let go my package with her.
She allow me to transfer to anyone who can use her on that day.

Beegirl: His range is about $14oo for videography. Think it's much cheaper if you took photography and videography together. Haha.. I agree with going with the flow. I didn't prepare much too but I was quite pleased with the results. I'm sure you make a pretty bride so enjoy yourselves.

My MUA is from the same bridal studio as I took the AD package from them too. But it's not going to be the same one which did my photoshoot. Am worried about her skills.
 
bibilow, usually photoshoot PGs and AD PGs are not the same... did you request to view some of her portfolio? You can ask your BS to show you if you are worried. :)

Bibilow:Thanks for sharing:) Im so sad that the the videographer whom i like and and only cost 1280 are not available on my date:( have to start sourcing again.3 more days to photoshoot, holy mama! hahahaha

Do you all know average freelance MUA rates for AD day &evening?
 
rabber: But a lot of people getting married this year too! I think it depends, some people are more superstitious, but also depends on the year you were born in? My fiance said last year and next year is not good for us to get married, so we have to do it this year! Ok, otherwise, I am growing old too!

bibilow: so happy for you, no matter opened tulips or not, i am sure the pictures will turn out well. Just remember to exercise self control while picking pics cos really, I hear too many people, stacking the album in the storeroom post first year marriage. Nobody has added me to fb, I only have beegirl added as a friend, maybe we can add each other on fb? :) PM me! Canvas, I think it's a few hundred, actually I am not too sure, but I just know I like it. Girls... Haha :) I'm waiting to see your pretty pics!

beegirl: not to worry, I am sure you will be a pretty bride. You look awesome even on your avatar pic! :) I have my VG at about 1200 (morning+ highlights). If you want to take a look at his works, I can send you the links via fb. Can get discount! My friend recommended me him cos he was her VG and I wasn't really particular about style and for the price, I thought it was ok (i've spent a bomb on my PG! must make sure I work him out! ;))
 
lemonzil: Thanks for your advice. Think I will request to view her portfolio when I choose my bridal photos. Hopefully she's as good as the MUA that did my photoshoot. :X

Beegirl: Are you taking your photoshoot today? So how's everything? I guess you must really start sourcing for your videographer as soon as possible coz end of the year seems to be a popular time for weddings especially when yours is going to be on a weekend. I have no idea how much does a freelance MUA charge for AD but I need MUA for my mum and future mother-in-law on my AD too. I'm going to start sourcing around. Will update you once I know the rates.

khanompang: Haha.. The photographer din even want to take photos of the non-blooming tulips but I'm glad I went into the dome coz Cloud Forest is really beautiful. I'm trying to tell myself to control, control and CONTROL. Am just afraid that all my self-control will just disappear into thin air when I need to select the photos. Grrr! Nobody has added me to FB yet too. Btw, I pm-ed you alrdy. :)
 
bibilow: why your photographer don't want non-blooming tulips? Should just make him take! Hahaha... I am evil, since you all are there anyway. Did you take pics at the cloud forest waterfall? How about the wet floor? I was thinking of considering of cloud forest too but the problem is the floor is quite wet, wet floor = dirty gown! Btw maybe you can ask you MUA if she does makeup for mum and mother-in-law, mine does so worse come to worse, I'll use her although a wee bit ex. I think prices are around $120 per head, some charge less if there are more heads, erm... Literally ;)
 
khanompang: Haha.. I guess because the tulips is green and looks more like patches of grass than flowers. Anyway I wanted him to look for places with "feel" so that the photos would look more beautiful. I did take the pics at the cloud forest and it's really beautiful. I agree that the gown was a little dirty and wet but then we were there around 7pm so it was a little dark and the gown didn't look that dirty. He told me that he's able to photoshop the dirty part if it does shows up in the photos. So will update you again when I select my photos. :) Hmmm. Seems like there's not much time if the MUA has to do your make up plus both mums hence my friends advise me to get another MUA for them. It might be a tad ex but then we have no choice especially for our mothers.

Bibilow : I will remember our photoshoot for life because i had diarrhea, blackout, 1st day of menses and vomitted! oh my oh my. The sun was horrible that i blackout twice. But i think our photographer did managed to capture great photos! thank god! Anyway, i emailed alot of freelance MUA and for mother hair and makeup average rates is about $80 per head.

IM SO GLAD THAT THE PHOTOSHOOT IS OVER! WHEEEEE
 
Hi khanompang, still doing the necessary preparations. still nagging at my FH for his guestlist and he has lots lots of frends to invite but we hav limited tables. hope everythin will run smooth for me and everyone in here!
 
jeanna: don't worry, things will turn out fine! :) If it makes you feel better, I have yet to go on to churning out a guest list. So... You are already ahead of me!
 
khanompang: No choice, my FH let me do all these while he take care of others like PG, wedding bands, march in songs, etc... So do you have any MUA to recommend? Gotta find for my mum,FMIL & FSIL.
 
jeanna: I think I am asking my MUA and assistants to do the makeup for my mum, FMIL and FSIL. I had one contact from a friend, but I don't know where I've chucked it! Let me try to go dig it out again! :)
 
Beegirl: Oh no.. Sorry to hear that you were not feeling well on the day of the photoshoot. I had a friend who felt nauseous and fainted on her photoshoot and she even puked. But her photos turn out to be well taken so I'm sure your photos will turn out well too. I haven start looking for MUA for both mums but I might ask my AD MUA to see if she could recommend someone to do it.

Khanompang: Thanks for your compliments and that's why I'm afraid that I will buy more additional photos when I need to select my photos. Haha! I just asked my sis to show me her wedding photos the other day and she kept it right the top of the storeroom and hard time taking it out. She said that it's been there ever since her wedding day. Hope I will keep that in mind and refrain from buying more. I haven done any other preparations other than purchasing my wedding bands on Friday. Next on to do list is to rent the bridal car and start sourcing for MUA for both mums. How about you?

Bibilow : aww I'm crossing fingers haha! We are going to select photos next next Sunday I have been sourcing for mua and VG and then I'm almost done.
 
Bibilow: Oh ya, I have been thinking about instant prints too! The cheapest so far that I've found if $499 . My mil had been saying she wan instant prints so that she can save the trouble to pass photos to the relatives after the wedding . Hopefully can source even cheaper ones lol
 
bibilow: Haven went for the photoshoot yet. already set date for gown fitting and photoshoot. Still having headache on guestlist as our tables were reduced due to change of venue. I feel instant prints is fun!! too bad my dinner will b at restaurant so cant really go for the instant prints. I think the price tat beegirl found is the cheapest tat i hav seen so far. rest assure, babe! it will not be a waste of money as it will b memories of your wedding!

bibilow: I think it depends on how much you like it. My cousin had one on his wedding, fun! But I am doing without it for I think I'm paying for people to just waste those films, my cousin's instants that I've got are just chucked in my drawer (a bit crumpled), end of the day, I think some people just throw so I can't be bothered to get one but I reckon that it will be FUN!
 
Beegirl: Wow. You get to select your photos so much faster than me even though I took mine early this month. My BS said I get to select my photos by end of this month but so far no news yet. Anyway let me know how much you refrain from buying so that I will keep telling myself not to when I select my photos. S$499 is cheap for instant prints is cheap coz the cheapest I can source so far is $800 but I'm still thinking coz my fiance is not very keen. Am trying to think of excuses to convince him. Ha! My AD MUA contacted me today so I asked her to recommend MUA for both mums and she quoted $100 per pax. To save myself the trouble of sourcing, I agreed. One more to-do list done. Yeah!

Jeanna: Where would you be going for you photoshoot? Local or overseas? Shortlisted any place yet? Photoshoot is kinda fun just that you'll be really tired at the end of the day. Beegirl and myself have gone for photoshoot so feel free to ask us any questions. :)

khanompang: My fiance has the same thinking as you. He feels that instant prints will be chucked somewhere at the end of the day so he is not really keen so am considering if it's really worth it. You'll be having your photoshoot in June, right? So have you prepare everything?

Gals.. Sometimes i really feel like a bridezilla coz I really want my special day to be perfect but then you know it's not going to be easy. Haiz.. Have you thought about having your make-up artist to be around for your 2nd march in? My MUA quoted me $200 today if I need a change of hairstyle for my 2nd march in, do you think it's worth it?
 
Bibilow : Hahaha sure sure! My selection of photos is on 9th of june btw:) If you need the $499 instant print email i can forward to you. I'm still considering too and also found another cheaper company for instant prints but they have yet to launch. I agree that to save the trouble you can just get ur mua to get people to help ur mum and in-laws, even though i saw some quoted $80. I think its better that they know each other.

$200 is kinda ex! I'm sourcing for freelance mua for myself as my bridal shop is from msia and doesn't include with mua. I got alot alot of quotes and usually they will charge for changing hairstyle for second march-in but only at $80-$150 . I will want to change hairstyle too unless too ex.
 
nit3angel: if you're looking for cute designs on bedsheets, go to OG. they have more choices..
 
bibilow: yes, I'm doing it on 18 Jun, next week doing final fitting before that but my work is draining me, I have no time and no mood to feel the least excited. I just feel fat. OMG. I think I will just go there, smile and let the PG do the rest of the job. Lazy bride... Likely won't be getting my MUA to do 2nd march in styling, I guess one is enough because it should be able to last (and I am probably going to choose a design that matches both gowns). I think I just want to save money... Overspending seems to be the keyword for my wedding already.
 
Beegirl: Thanks Beegirl. Let me think about the instant prints and will get back to you if I really need the contacts. My BS called me today and says I can go anytime to select the photos. But due to work constraints, I can only go down in 2 weeks time. Hopefully I can refrain from spending too much if not my fiance is going to kill me. Haha!

I agree $200 is rather ex but then I cannot change my MUA since it comes with my bridal package. But I really hope to change my hairstyle for my 2nd march in since it's a one in a lifetime event.

Stay happy so that you'll be a happy bride when you goes for your photoshoot. Your htb is such a lucky man. My fiance has been complaining that I spend too much money so am trying to cut down on optional items now. Hmph!

So would you all be moving into your new place after wedding? My flat would only be ready 3 years later so am moving in with my in laws first. Worried worried~

khanompang : Don't worry, the bridal will do the job for you even you are lazy to do anything:) They are going to lead the way and also not to worry cause they are going to edit the fats away(thats what i thought cause i didn't managed to slim down for the shoot haha!) I agree that we all might be overspending for that one day:(

Bibilow : Sure sure :) Now i'm thinking of cutting down optional items as well as i need to set aside that i have to hire freelance mua for myself on AD which costed approx $500-$600 :( and my friends told me to cut cost from other items but not to save on mua as my face is important that day. lol! So i think maybe you can just request for change of hairstyle for the 2nd march if you feel like to:)

Bibilow: I will be staying with my mil too. Flat will be ready in 3 years too. I heard 10 stories, all 10 stories had problem. N who cares now Cos the prob is not in our face yet so don't worry too much just enjoy your planning and be a beautiful bride on your actual day.
 
I wanted instant print, live photography on the hotel screen, carpets for march in, even had my wedding favour shipped from shanghai.... then my friend advise me not to spend too much and exhaust yourself in preparation for the wedding.
"It is not the wedding that matters but the lasting marriage" so I stopped everything n only had the coaster from shanghai.

So dear all, enjoy to be a bride on your actual day.
 
BB : I totally agree with you.

Actually i'm already a married woman for 2 years plus so this wedding banquet is just like an official announcement to everybody. Gotta self control to over stress about making it perfect.

& yup, i wil lbe movin' in to stay w my PIL first. Am still waitin for HDB to announce when is our key collection. But still gotta do renov., tink wun b able to complete in time for my weddin.. >.<
 
Beegirl: yap, even how well you plan, something will crop up for every event. My professional is in the events line. and it happens to all my event. Moreover, events are planned it in a team. As long as the in charge is capable in solving it at their finger tips. This is where your bridesmaid matters the most.
 
beegirl: i like the idea of editing away the fats :) and no you are not a bridezilla, its definitely normal to want to look the prettiest during your wedding because its surely something that never repeats so if not now, when?! ;)

bibilow: me too. Flat will be ready in 2 years time and moving in with in laws. Even TV shows the sour relationship between the daughter in law and parent in laws so I am not sure if things can turn out fine... Just pray! Although I must say my PIL are rather nice people, still... Living together is totally different. I am trying to keep work out after I leave office, actually its not the work, I am just so physically tired that I just want to sleep! :p My fiance thinks that I have a sleeping problem, everyday sleep so much. Btw he is not lucky, I am not saving that much money for him, just that I think we've spent a bomb on the gown, suit, PG and rings, I sort of think I need to curb it. :D I'll pop by to chat here when I am free, just chat on.

Khanompang : Hee i know right:) I am those who like to source for the cheap and good stuffs,lol! Thats why i had been over stressing that i keep looking and looking for many stuffs.
