The Wedding Shoe Game Is the Original Couples Challenge

Do the viral couples challenge live at your wedding with the Wedding Shoe Game!
You’ve probably seen (or taken part in) the viral couples challenge TikTok trend where couples answer questions to test their knowledge of each other. The catch is that they have to answer at the same time! From who is the best kisser, to who made the first move–what each person believes about the relationship will be revealed through the activity.
But did you know that the original couples challenge is the Wedding Shoe Game? This popular wedding reception game is a great way for guests to get to know you a little better, while injecting some fun into the celebrations. Couples sit back to back and raise up the bride’s or the groom’s shoe to answer the questions, making for a lot of laughs! If you want to add the Wedding Shoe Game into your wedding reception programme, enlist the help of your bridal party or wedding emcee to come up with the questions so you can give your honest answers on the day!
How to Play the Wedding Shoe Game
You probably already know how to play the Wedding Shoe Game, but here’s a recap. To play the Wedding Shoe Game, you’ll need to set up two chairs back to back on stage, where the bride and groom will sit so they cannot see each other. They’ll take off their shoes and swap one of them so that each person holds one shoe from the bride and one shoe from the groom. Typically, the wedding emcee (or a member of the bridal party) will host the game and ask the couple around 20-50 questions about their relationship, which they’ll answer by raising the relevant shoe in the air. Bring on the laughs!
Wedding Shoe Game Questions
The questions asked in the wedding shoe game are very similar to the questions in the couple challenge. For more of a surprise, do what couple Ming Tong and Daryl did: “We planned for a shoe game where we had our guests write down the questions to ask us instead (we had no idea what questions we’d be asked!), to lighten the mood!”
