The Fullerton Spa Unveils Luxurious Treatments Co-curated With ESPA

We took a few hours off work to experience new relaxing spa treatments from award-winning The Fullerton Spa.

Pre-COVID, most spa-lovers will wait until they are on a vacation overseas to book themselves a spa treatment or two. There’s just something different about being away that makes us more relaxed and in the mood for a spa session. I understand, because I’m like that too.

However, now that we’re on “house-arrest” for a while, there’s no better time to explore the numerous spa options we have available on our shores. If you’re already booking a staycation, do check out the hotel spa and you may be surprised at how you can still feel like you’re on a holiday at a resort out of Singapore. I got the chance to experience a treatment at The Fullerton Spa recently, and I’m smiling now as I recall the amazing conversation I had with my spa therapist, who has had more than 30 years of experience in the industry.

Unveiling new spa treatments and co-curated products

Committed to providing the finest in luxury, quality and service, award-winning The Fullerton Spa recently unveiled a range of exceptional treatments and products, co-curated with world-renowned premium spa brand, ESPA, and that was what I was there to review.

“Since it first opened its doors, The Fullerton Spa has established itself as a premier spa haven right in the heart of the iconic heritage precinct. Our new and refreshed offerings harness the excellence of ESPA treatments to deliver a sublime and rewarding spa experience, ensuring that our guests can feel truly relaxed, rejuvenated and inspired,” said Cavaliere Giovanni Viterale, General Manager of The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts.

ESPA products contain a unique blend of plant extracts, marine actives, and essential oils which are beautiful to use, as they have luxurious textures and sensorial mood-enhancing aromatics. Ingredients, manufacturing and packaging standards are also constantly reviewed to meet evolutionary sustainability goals to ensure ESPA products deliver inner calm and conscious luxury in harmony with nature. ESPA is 100% cruelty-free with over 50 vegan-friendly products.

You can look forward to a comprehensive range of restorative treatments at The Fullerton Spa, including the Asian Heritage Signature (90 minutes, S$260++), consisting of a stress-relieving scalp massage and deep muscle massage, as well as The Fullerton Signature Facial (60 minutes or 90 minutes, from S$220++), an innovative treatment that rapidly transforms the visible health of one’s skin.

I had booked the Asian Heritage Signature treatment. When I arrived at the spa, my spa therapist asked the usual questions about my current condition and if I had any issues to address. I mentioned that I was having some upper body aches, probably due to bad posture while working, and also that I was having trouble sleeping.

After asking me what kind of scents I usually prefer, she presented two different essential oils, applied them to my wrists and asked which one appeal to me more. I instinctively chose the one that had Eucalyptus, Wild Clove and Lavender. My spa therapist then explained that I had picked the ESPA Fitness Body Oil, which is supposed to invigorate overworked bodies. The one I didn’t pick was the ESPA Soothing Body Oil, which has a blend of Sandalwood, Frankincense and Rose Geranium, and is supposed to destress the mind and body. My body had decided which oil I would be using for the treatment that day.

My session started with a 30-minute scalp massage using ESPA’s Pink Hair and Scalp Mud. I was a little worried that I would then have to take a shower before I left the spa, but it turned out to be less oily than I had expected. You could even leave the treatment on your scalp overnight for maximum nourishment.

Even though I had chosen to do the Asian Heritage Signature treatment, which comes with a one-hour body massage, my spa therapist recommends The Fullerton Signature facial for brides. Blending the latest facial expertise and skincare know-how with powerful formulas from ESPA, your skin is first prepped with an advanced triple-cleanse treatment, before nutrient-rich formulas are activated to refine, quench and revitalise. A bespoke facial massage then smooths and boosts circulation, leaving skin glowing with radiance.

If you want to splurge on an ultimate indulgence with the money you’ve saved from air tickets, the Hero Treatment (90 minutes, S$320++) takes one on a highlypersonalised wellness journey that combines a targeted back, face and scalp massage with ESPA’s aromatherapy oils.

With a focus on delivering visible results and an uplifting difference in body and spirit, each treatment begins with an in-depth consultation to tailor the wellness experience for your needs, just like mine did. There are also other amenities available for use, including the sauna, steam room and 25-metre outdoor infinity pool.
