Jennica and Xin Ying’s Elegant and Timeless Wedding at JW Marriott Singapore South Beach

Lovebirds Jennica and Xin Ying’s vision of an elegant and timeless wedding came true in the Grand Ballroom of JW Marriott Singapore South Beach.

Despite being course mates in school, Jennica and Xin Ying only grew closer during their internship programm. Sparks flew and the sweethearts became an item two years later. After a heartfelt proposal in Sentosa, Jennica and Xin Ying tied the knot in a beautiful wedding at the elegant and magnificent Grand Ballroom of JW Marriott Singapore South Beach with the blessings and love from their family and friends. Sneak a peek at their nuptials here!

How did you meet?

We were course mates in Singapore Polytechnic, specialising in Tourism and Resort Management, and were among a group of nine assigned to Resorts World Sentosa for our internship programme. That was when we first got introduced to each other. We became closer during the six months internship, but only got together two years later.

What’s one of the things you love most about your partner?

Jennica: I love that he puts in effort for our relationship and is always putting my happiness above everything. He doesn’t just say it, but has shown it to me through his actions, such as making sure he sees me home right up to my door step for the past five years, and calling me every night after work when we don’t get to meet just to check on how my day was. His dedication to me has made me realise that he is a man I can depend on for life.

Xin Ying: She makes me feel that she treasures me every single day. She wants the best for me and has never ever taken me for granted. I believe both of us share the same goals and dreams in life, and we work hand in hand to achieve them. Her constant effort for our relationship is also a key to our marriage!

What was the proposal like?

Jennica: Xin Ying arranged a surprise proposal at Universal Studios Singapore, the place where we first met! Together with the help of our close friends, he decorated the place with photos of us throughout our dating journey and played videos of our family members showering us with their blessings. He also prepared a heartfelt speech that touched my heart deeply.

What was your wedding day like?

Jennica: It was a busy day packed with activities from day to night! Thankfully, we had the help of our entourage who made sure the day ran smoothly and liaised with our vendors on our behalf. We also wanted a lighthearted, fun and memorable wedding gatecrash in the morning, and to fulfil our vision, our team of sporting groomsmen decided on a theme and dressed accordingly.

We decided to wed at JW Marriott Singapore South Beach because we wanted a classy and elegant wedding, and their Grand Ballroom fitted our vision to the T! Overall, despite the hectic schedule, our wedding day was truly one of the most memorable days of my life.

Xin Ying: I could not sleep the night before! It was a tiring but meaningful and memorable day. I could not hold back my smile the entire day! This special day turned out exactly like I had envisioned it to – smooth and perfect. Despite it being tiring, it was a meaningful and memorable day, and I enjoyed myself throughout the entire day. The vendors and my team of groomsmen ensured that the day proceeded smoothly, leaving me worry-free throughout the day. I also received a lot of positive comments from our friends and families on how impressed they were with the wedding set-up, our overseas video clip, and everything else!

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?

Jennica: I’d have to say it was the union of our close friends and families who came together to celebrate this momentous milestone with us on our special day.

Xin Ying: For me, it was the endless smiles and laughter of our families, guests and of course, ourselves!
