A Special Styled Shoot That Celebrates Beauty and Individuality by Stitch By Stitch Co.

In celebration of International Women’s Day this year, Stitch By Stitch Co. teamed up with five brides and a group of talented vendors for a styled shoot.

Shot in the home studio of Stitch By Stitch Co., five beautiful brides and a talented team of weddings vendors came together to celebrate individuality, strength and beauty, inspired by this year’s International Women’s Day. Centered around the brides’ bespoke gowns, wedding stylist Wulala! and florist, Sweet as Cosmos, styled the place where their dream gowns were brought to life. With Just Like Magic Co.’s creative direction, the brides’ unique personalities shone through in this one-of-a-kind styled shoot.

Share with us the stories behind each of the five brides’ unique wedding outfits.

Stitch By Stitch Co.: For our first bride, Hannah, we designed a timeless cheongsam in jewel tones to complement her love for wearing bright colours and patterns, her favourite Christmas season and her desire to have a bit of her own history.

Our second bride, Priscilla, wanted something that was simple, minimalist, classic and flattering to her silhouette, so we created a minimalist gown with subtle details that was understated yet outstanding in its simplicity, just like Priscilla herself.

For our next bride, Jane, who equally loves dressing up as much as dressing comfortably, we designed a lovely gown embellished with beautiful, intricate lace to give off that romantic boho look that she wanted. She also requested for a long and elegant train, so we gave her a mesmerising grand train that trails after her in a regal sway.

Wynn’s positive and strong personality inspired me to conceptualise a two-piece jumpsuit for her because nothing says ‘boss babe’ more than this powerful silhouette! To soften the silhouette and give it a soft and romantic touch, we added feathered details to create a statement look that she can rock down the aisle on her wedding day.

Last but not least, Chloe wanted something girly and dreamy with lace details, and easy to move in so she could comfortably walk around during her wedding dinner. She also had such an infectious bubbly personality that we couldn’t help but incorporate a hint of her fun-loving persona into an easy-to-move in lace jumpsuit for her outfit.

Was there any difficulties in styling the set for the different brides?

Wulala! and Sweet As Cosmos: Even though I had not personally met any of the brides before the styled shoot, we had absolutely no difficulties in deciding on the look of the various sets. We conceptualised four themes based on their made-to-measure gowns.

For Hannah, we incorporated an oriental touch and Christmas colours to complement her cheongsam into the set to bring out her sophistication and personality. For Priscilla, we chose to keep the look monochromatic with lots of white to showcase the modern elegance of her dress and genuine nature.

To complement Jane’s warm and comforting personality, we used girly, earthy tones that brought out the rustic vibe in her romantic, bo-ho gown. Wynn’s outfit was really unique with an outstanding feather detail, so we kept the set simple and elegant with a neutral palette of nude shades. Last but not least, we designed an all-white set for Chloe to keep the limelight on her dreamy and modern lace jumpsuit, and her bubbly nature.

Share with us how International Women’s Day inspired you to come together for this shoot, and the message you hope to bring across.

Stitch By Stitch Co.: International Women’s Day is all about appreciating each and every woman, as well as to celebrate the unspoken harmony and unity amongst us girls. So, I thought, what better way to celebrate our diverse talents, interests and unique beauty than to have a women-only team for a styled shoot.

Makeup Maestro: We also want to encourage all women, not just brides, to be true to yourself and be yourself. If you’re not a girly girl and dresses are not your thing, go wild with a pantsuit and be a handsome bride. If you are a minimalist bride, you don’t have to choose a gown with lace embellishments and beadings; a clean and sleek looking wedding gown is equally fabulous.

Just Like Magic Co.: I believe that feeling beautiful is a powerful emotion for all women. So, having these brides dress up in an outfit that was made just for them and photographing them in a comfortable setting created specially for them send a powerful message that every one of them is a unique individual and they should be confident and proud of who they are.

Wulala! and Sweet As Cosmos: Through this styled shoot, we hope that brides will embrace their own quirks and rock their wedding outfits, be it a dress or a pantsuit!
