Highlights of the Wedelf Workshop at Alcove at Caldwell House

Last month, we spent a lovely afternoon at Wedelf’s wedding workshop at Alcove at Caldwell House. Here are the highlights from that afternoon’s happenings.

It is always a pleasure to return to Alcove at Caldwell House so when we were invited to Wedelf’s Workshop on 15 September 2019, we were beyond thrilled.

Gazetted as a national monument in 1990, Caldwell House is one of the oldest buildings in Singapore. Featuring a neoclassical style design by renowned architect George Coleman, The Grand Gallery on Level 2, renamed Alcove, is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding celebration of 30 to 100 guests. Caldwell House’s most distinctive feature, the dome and the French Inscription on its ceiling that reads Marche en ma presence et sois parfait, which translates as “Walk along with me and be perfect”, offers a unique space for the most romantic of solemnisations.

Organised by the Wedelf team, the workshop offered couples a brand new wedding planning experience where they not only get to browse and mingle with a variety of trendy wedding vendors, they also get to interact with them during mini workshops conducted by the vendors.

Featuring an attractive line-up of trending wedding vendors such as Watabe Singapore, Autelier Makeup, Blanc Studios, Ethereal, Wild Lavender Studio, OneThreeOneFour, Cupplets, FreshfromKenneth and Blisspixel, the one-of-a-kind Alcove was bustling with activity as couples explored and mingled with the vendors.

Couples were welcomed to sign up for the specially planned workshops by the individual vendors to learn about bridal hair and makeup, destination pre-wedding photography and vow writing tips, or take part in hands-on activities like DIY-ing a boutonniere or macarons painting. They also enjoyed the beautiful and elegant setup and photobooth put together by Blanc Studios, and the attractive desserts by Cupplets that were both pretty to look at and delicious during the exciting afternoon of wedding planning.

As always, a wedding workshop at Alcove at Caldwell House never fails to satisfy, and this one in particular was a breath of fresh air as it encouraged more interactions between couples and the vendors, and kept couples engaged the entire time with workshops. And if this is the kind of wedding planning experience you want, then be sure to keep an eye out for Wedelf’s upcoming wedding workshops in the near future.
