Shenny and Marc’s Beach Engagement Session in Singapore, with Soft, Ethereal Light

Shenny and Marc celebrated their engagement with an ethereal beach engagement session with soft, airy light, right here in Singapore.

Shenny Yeh, 28, Co-Owner of Lunapompom and The Prelude Bridal, and Marc Zhuang, 33, Banker, got engaged in an intimate proposal in Bali, an island that had a special place in Shenny’s heart. To celebrate their love, the couple had an airy and ethereal beach engagement session in Singapore, filled with soft, natural light.

How did you meet?

Shenny: We met through a friend, which wasn’t an intentional set up. It was a bunch of people on a casual night out over beer and bar food. Afterwards, we became hi-bye acquaintances. It was only half a year later that we reconnected and it took off from there.

What was the proposal like?

Shenny: He proposed in Bali. It is my favorite destination in the world. I took a two-week solo trip there back in 2016, it was where we first travelled together as a couple, and being half-Indonesian, it’s also “home-ground” for me. We don’t have the wedding planned out yet, but we’re hoping to hold it there too. I don’t remember much of the proposal but after I said yes, he played me a video where five of my closest friends recorded individual congratulatory messages. This was really meaningful because these are my ride-or-die friends. With most of them being overseas, we don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like to. Marc looping them in showed me he understood how much they meant to me.

Where did you go for your shoot?

Shenny: Maritha is a friend and reached out to us upon learning of our engagement. She pretty much spearheaded the whole shoot and we were just lucky enough to be part of the process. She really wanted to challenge the popular notion that the sunlight is “too harsh” in Singapore and Singaporeans can’t get soft, bright, and airy pictures locally. I think she totally nailed it.
