Emi and Andre’s Elegant Star Wars Themed Wedding at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa
Emi and Andre’s elegant Star Wars themed wedding was full of emotional moments and subtle touches to show their shared love for the series.
Emi, 26, Teacher, Andre, 27, Pastor, are both huge fans of Star Wars, and when Emi did a Yoda impression on their first date, that’s when Andre knew he wanted to go out with her. The couple tied the knot in a beautiful and elegant Star Wars themed wedding on 11 November 2017 in Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa.
How did you two meet each other?
We met in church and started exploring a relationship after encouragement from mutual friends. In the process, we discovered that we went to schools that were on the same compound, our birthdays were only a day apart, and we lived across from each other.
What drew you to each other?
Andre: I was drawn to her because of her love for life. She taught me to find joy in the little things and enjoy the lighter side of life. I am most comfortable and at rest when I am with her. She is my best friend.
Emi: His generosity drew me to him, not just in the material sense, but also in the giving of his time. He taught me never to keep what we have to ourselves but to share and bless others, be it friends or strangers. It was just the way he lived his life and I loved it.
Tell us about your Stars Wars themed wedding!
Andre: We are both massive fans of Star Wars. In fact, I knew I wanted to go out with her when she did a Yoda impersonation on our first date.
The brief we gave our wedding stylist Med Kärlek when we first met was that we wanted our wedding to have a “subtle Star Wars” theme to it. We are nerds at heart but we did not want our wedding to resemble Comic Con.
What was your wedding day like?
It was lighthearted, fun and memorable. We had always envisioned a wedding where we weren’t rushed between outfit changes and programmes. We got to savour the moments as well as spend quality time interacting with our guests.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Andre: It would have to be the moment when the large church doors swung open and Emi began walking down the aisle. I had never seen her in her wedding dress and needless to say, I was an absolute mess.
Emi: For me, it was also the walking down the aisle. I was nervous at first but when the doors swung open, I was so happy, I held a wide smile the whole way.
