Wedding Angbao Rates
Aside from helping couples zoom in on a venue that suits their needs and budget, our wedding banquet and alternative wedding price lists have also been used as an angbao rates guide by wedding guests. However, we do not encourage wedding guests from using the price lists to determine the amount of blessings they’d like to gift to the happy couple and discourage couples from using the price list as a gauge to calculate how much of their weddings costs they can recoup from their guests’ angbaos.
The wedding angbaos are symbols of auspiciousness, prosperity, luck and blessings for the happy couple, and guests should feel free to gift whatever amount they wish to the couple in their angbaos. Likewise, a wedding is a celebration of a joyous and significant milestone with the couple’s family and friends, so they should not expect their guests to “pay” for the wedding with the angbaos that were gifted to them.AforArcade Founders Min and Collin’s Beautiful Wedding at Grand Hyatt Singapore
The rule of thumb every couple should follow is to never bank on the wedding angbaos to cover the cost of their wedding. Always select a venue that is within your wedding budget, not outside of what you can afford, with the expectation of paying at least 80% of your wedding by yourself. That way, you’ll avoid the pitfall of falling into debt if you’re unable to use your wedding angbaos to offset half or majority of your wedding bill. If the amount collected from the angbaos are sufficient to foot your wedding bills, then it’s a bonus, but you should never – I repeat, never count on it to do so and plan a wedding above what you can afford.
