Written in the Stars Styled Shoot at FOO’D by Davide Oldani (now known as Sinfornia Ristorante)

This styled shoot paints a story of love written in the stars with a gorgeous calligraphy table runner and welcome sign, gold accents, and dark and moody florals striking a contrast against the graceful, white Corinthian columns of FOO’D by Davide Oldani, which has since been rebranded to Sinfornia Ristorante.

Moody, mystical, and mesmeric, this styled shoot is will strike a chord for those lovers whose stories are written in the stars. To tell the tale of starry-eyed lovers whose destiny is foretold by the constellations, we dreamed up a setting of dusky blues, amethyst, mauve and midnight tones, shot through with gold and stardust in a glamorously dark and cosmic palette to celebrate the stars aligning for their union. Our dark and moody shoot was beautifully captured by the talented Adrian of Adrian Seetho Photography.

Rachel Koh, the talented hand behind @letteringinphosphenes, created a simply stunning calligraphy table runner to grace our head table, and handlettered a stardusted wedding invitation suite as well as menu cards in flowing gold script on dark hues. Finished with a raw and uneven deckle edge, the invitations and cards were then glazed with a shimmering watercolour wash.

Annie from Hello Flowers! set the mood with cosmic-inspired floral arrangements using exotic rice flowers, celosia, purple veronica, calla lilies, brassica, blue thistles, blueberries, and blackberries along with lilac roses and lush botanicals like olive leaves and dusty miller. To add a dash of sparkle, Jessica from Everitt Weddings styled the tables with geometric gold accents and luminous druzy stones, and glowing candlelight from tall black candles. An ornate gold frame formed a welcome sign, with calligraphy by Rachel.

The dark glamour of the theme created a striking contrast to the elegant, airy white of our venue. Set in the 150-year-old Victoria Concert Hall, the restaurant features the same stunning neoclassical architecture and intricate heritage elements blended with contemporary furnishings. Breathtakingly high ceilings are held aloft by Corinthian columns, and intricate architectural details frame the windows to create a grand, ethereal setting perfect for wedding celebrations with over 200 guests. The beautiful restaurant reflects the thought Michelin-starred chef Davide Oldani puts into his guests’ dining experience; everything is well-designed, down to the glassware and the unique passepartout, a spoon, fork, and knife all rolled into one.

The beautiful venue features just as beautiful food, exquisitely prepared by Executive Chef Simone Depalmas and his culinary team. For our styled shoot, the talented pastry team prepared a glamorous and decadent dessert table filled with luscious dark chocolate mousse topped with gold leaf, rich chocolate truffles dusted in raspberry crystals, and dainty macarons arranged like shooting stars, all delicious treats which exploded with flavour.

With many thanks to the creative team of vendors!
