Warm, Vintage Wedding at Open Farm Community with Organic Florals

With floral arrangements as lush and organic as the grounds of Open Farm Community, this vintage-styled wedding shoot beautifully showcases The Bloom Room’s new wooden arch and stands.

When the team at The Bloom Room started looking at options for a new floral arch, simplicity is a word they found themselves often returning to. A simple frame that will let the flowers take centre stage and is elegant for its lack of frills and complications.

With the piece now complete, they conceptualised this styled shoot showcasing the arch and accompanying stands with warm, organic floral design. Thus inspired, they approached Fiona of SmittenPixels Photography, whom they know to have a great eye for romance and mystery.

Open Farm Community, with its laid-back atmosphere, was a natural choice for the shoot. Its bowling lawn, surrounded by an herb garden and sculptures, has the intimate air of a secret hideout and served as the spot where the floral arch stood.

Starting with a base of free-flowing vines and ferns, The Bloom Room layered on soft colours in a mix of fresh, silk and preserved florals: the dreamy blue and sea-green of hydrangeas, vibrant peach of the amaryllis and dahlia, and iridescent glow of anthuriums.

Taupe and tan shades, in the form of pieris buds and scabiosas, add depth and contrast, as well as delicate texture. The asymmetrical placement of the flowers allows the organic floral design to be dramatically expressed.

In the bridal bouquet, pastel tones mingle – blush callas and peach ranunculuses are joined by pink delphiniums, hypericum berries and textural fillers. The resulting unstructured form and soft textures make for a bouquet that is disarmingly charming.

The bride wore a minimalistic dress with beautiful pleated details by Klarra. Makeup artist Esta Hsu gave her a fresh-faced look and peach-tinted lips with loosely plaited hair. The groom’s vintage-styled attire and the couple’s leather shoes add warmth and complete the look of the shoot.
