Designer Feature: Vera Wang Spring 2017 Bridal Collection

The Vera Wang Spring 2017 Bridal Collection debuted in Singapore at a trunk show from 18 to 20 November 2016.

We were introduced to the new Vera Wang Spring 2017 Bridal Collection during the media preview last Friday, 18 November 2016, at the Vera Wang Flagship store in Marina Bay Sands. Debuted earlier this year in a short film titled Désir à l’Anglaise, the Vera Wang Spring 2017 Bridal Collection enraptures with the delicate modern grandeur of ethereal tulle and organza against the sheer seduction of skin, in a contemporary interpretation of courtly love.

The inspiration comes through in contemporary corset gowns and dramatic ruffled collars around the throat, empire waists with demure high collars and sleeves transformed by the use of sensually sheer fabrics. There is a playful frolic with traditionally courtly silhouettes, which are created with delicate, ethereal fabrics and pearl and floral embroidery that reveal the seduction of smooth, creamy skin.

Inspired by the sheer seduction of lingerie, Viola captivates with its corset bodice and ivory Italian tulle overlay embroidered with crystals and flower paillettes that drift gently over the skirt and fades into the hem. Nigella features an ivory paisley rose lace and light ivory French tulle with lily lace in a courtly, high-necked silhouette, accented with dahlia lace godets and intricate pearl, crystal and flower embroidery to exude a delicate elegance. Dagmar, in a nod to aristocratic grandeur, is a light ivory silk faille ball gown with an exaggerated sweetheart neckline accented with undulating layers of raw silk organza handwork.

Transforming the opulent silhouettes of the royal court into a modern dream of sensuous and delicate grandeur, the Vera Wang Spring 2017 Bridal Collection highlights the importance of a bride’s wedding day while infusing her style with beautiful femininity and grace.
