Yolan Cris Fall 2017 Collection of Extravagant, Baroque Wedding Gowns
The Yolan Cris Fall 2017 collection is a baroque extravaganza of haute couture wedding gowns that experiment with textures and never-before-seen silhouettes.
Titled “Studio,” the Yolan Cris Fall 2017 collection is a feast for the senses. The Barcelonan bridal haute couture house premiered its latest bridal collection at the New York Bridal Fashion Week 2016 at the Prince George Ballroom in New York. Inspired by the women portrayed by celebrated Romantic and Baroque painters, the gowns evoke exuberance, drama, tension, and grandeur through their luxurious play with textures.
The collection uses the finest, most exclusive fabrics to great effect, creating innovative silhouettes that will cause a stir on the bridal runway. Luxuriously embroidered fabrics skim the body with opulent gold leaves, trailing floral laces, and silvery tassels. The cloud-like textures of ethereal tulle and chiffon are played up to create Victorian-esque ruffles, and gold-threaded jacquard is sculpted into the poufy bell-sleeves that were often seen in court. Techniques are extravagantly unconventional as well, with the designers introducing pieces woven and held together with gold rings, and macramé-like tassels.
Silhouettes inspire grandeur, with diaphanous printed chiffons, intricate laces, and delicate beading elaborately layered over structured pieces, and overcoats and jackets adding a different dimension to the gowns. Colours are on trend in taking a (gold) leaf from vintage eras, in gilded tones of copper, rose gold, champagne, and gold.
Dramatic, exuberant, and very extravagant, any gown from the Yolan Cris Fall 2017 collection will make a queenly entrance indeed.
Yolan Cris is based in Barcelona, and is available in 40 countries worldwide.
