The Halia at Raffles Hotel Wedding Showcase 2015
Earlier this November, I was invited to The Halia at Raffles Hotel’s Wedding Showcase 2015 and had awonderful time with the people behind the wedding showcase, their hand-picked partners and excited soon-to-be brides and grooms.
One thing I love about The Halia is the alluring blend of colonial structurewith nuances of warm, rustic green foliage. Outside, the spacious, open and stately alfresco bar area is just the spot for a pre-wedding reception or outdoor seating of up to 60 guests, who will no doubt be entertained by the novelty of drinking Gin dispensed from an18th-century-esque clawfoot bathtub, unique only to The Halia at Raffles Hotel.
Recite your vows and pledge your love to one another in a simple but elegant solemnisation in the open, right next to the alfresco bar, or take it indoors to the urban, casual-chic restaurant. The space, perfect for an intimate wedding or solemnisation of up to 110 guests, featured beautiful wood-carved tables impeccably decorated with bright, beautiful blooms and rustic green vines by Aces of Vase and burlap table runners.
The restaurant’s classic French windows let in an abundance of sunlight, perfectlycomplementing the surrounding lush foliage and aged wood-carved tables – a continuation of the garden theme in its sister outlet in the Botanic Gardens. Itwas bustlingwith excitement and activity that afternoon,as soon-to-be-wed couples browsed through and admired creative works from The Halia’s handpicked wedding vendors, such as intricate wedding gowns by La Belle Couture, personalised wedding invites byMiraculove, exceptionaldecor by 8Dec, heartfelt photography by Antelope Studios and One Eye Click, elegant wedding cakes by Cake Inspiration, and many more.
Lunch was served shortly and I must say their concept of communal feasting was refreshing and interesting. Instead of individual appetisers and mains, The Halia serves their good in Small or Big plates to foster sharing and communication amongst guests. And it worked – passing the dishes to and fro got everyone seated at the same table talking. We were treated to so many delicious dishes, such as the Oriental Pulled Duck soba, the signature Halia Chili Crab Spaghettini and Sticky Toffee Pudding, that we lost count how many we’d eaten halfway!
For couples who are searching for an unconventional wedding in an intimate and unique setting that is centrally located and easily accessible, and offers both the comfort of an air-conditioned indoor area and alfresco seating, The Halia at Raffles Hotel is the perfect venue for you.
