Weddings in Pictures: A Bohemian and Rustic Affair
When it comes to these two lovebirds, the words “soul mates”, “destined” and “fate” float straight to your mind. Childhood sweethearts Katrina McCrindle and Isaac Christian were 14 years old when they first met each other but it wasn’t until more than a decade later that they decided to tie the knot on 24 August 2013. Words can’t describe their beautiful 15-year-old love story so we’ll just let the pictures do the talking.
I heard you two have quite a love story and proposal to share with us.
Isaac and I first met at Clementi Bus Interchange where we saw each other occasionally on the way to school but were only officially introduced to one another by a mutual friend soon after. We dated for a year before he proposed to me but things did not work out for us that first time and we went our separate ways. 8 years and a few relationships later, we bumped into each other in Holland Village! From then on, we met up once every year and 3 years later, we fell crazily in love with each other again, bought a house and moved in together. Isaac re-enacted his first proposal to me 14 years ago with candles and rose petals scattered in our home, and got down on one knee for the second time. And this time, I kept the ring.
Your wedding looked gorgeous! Share with us some of your inspirations behind the big day!
We wanted a rustic bohemian themed outdoor wedding for our wedding and Nosh had just the perfect al-fresco ambience and white rustic tables and a mix of Tiffany and rustic chairs for the occasion. We chose wild flowers like posies, eustoma and dried lotus pods and had them displayed on each table and hanging from trees in glass bottles and white birdcages. We are huge fans of the reality series Survivor so we customised shot glasses with a similar logo as the series with the text “I survived Isaac and Katrina’s wedding”.
Looking back, were there any moments during your wedding that were especially memorable or special to you?
The entire wedding was so special and dear to our hearts that we can’t possibly say which moment was the most memorable. My mother flew in from Perth for our big day and for me, that made our big day just that more special. The presence of our friends and family who had seen how our relationship grew over the years also made the occasion even more special than it would have otherwise been.
