Now It’s Even Easier To Be A Vera Wang Bride!
Being a Vera Wang bride just got easier with the arrival of the designer’s first bridal boutique in Singapore. Media and friends were invited to the grand opening of Vera Wang’s flagship store at Marina Bay Sands – The Shoppes on 19 December 2014 for an evening of celebration. We were honoured to be given a first look at the designer’s spacious boutique and her latest bridal collection before they opened the store to the public.
The 1,600 square feet boutique is Vera Wang’s latest venture aside from her boutiques in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai, and houses her bridal collections. The beautiful and ethereal wedding gowns on the racks stood out against the graphite concrete floors, charcoal grey walls, etched glass doors and blackened steel design elements, bathing the boutique in a warmer, contemporary glow that resonates understated elegance, sophistication and modernity, creating the perfect environment to put the bride and her entourage at ease as she browsed through and tried on the designer’s sensual, youthful and sophisticated creations. Oh, and did I mention the large dressing rooms and its accompanying sofa lounge, complete with a podium and a full-length mirror? Very Say Yes to The Dress if I may say so.
A wedding gown shopping experience is never complete without knowledgeable and helpful consultants to aid you in the selection or fitting of your gown. A Vera Wang consultant will be assigned to one bride to help her find the perfect gown for her wedding day that complements her style, and to ensure that every bride gets a consultant, an appointment is needed before you visit the boutique. The consultants can also help you with the selection of bridal accessories to go with your gown and any special customisation requests. To help the consultants zoom in on your dream dress, you should read up on which silhouette or neckline you prefer, and bring images of Vera Wang’s wedding gowns that you wish to try on along to your appointment. And if you have a piece of jewelry or accessory that you intend to wear on your wedding day, you should bring it along to the appointment to ensure that it goes well with your chosen gown. Vera Wang’s Spring 2015 Collection is currently available at the boutique.
Because all Vera Wang bridal gowns are special-order, customised to each and every bride’s measurements and reflecting any requested changes to the design, we encourage brides to order their wedding gown at least six to eight months before their wedding date to avoid rush fees. But if your big day is less than six months away, you can still be a Vera Wang bride as select bridal gowns can be purchased a few months prior to your wedding. However, a rush fee may be incurred to guarantee enough time for fittings and delivery. Your Vera Wang consultant will contact you for your first fitting once your gown is complete, usually eight weeks before your wedding day. Typically, two or three fittings are required, but more can be scheduled if necessary. Brides are encouraged to bring the undergarments and shoes they plan to wear on their big day to ensure that the hemline and bodice are fitted properly.
Aside from Vera Wang’s bridal collections, shoes, accessories, fragrances and key pieces from the designer’s Wedgwood home collection will be available for the bride’s choosing at the flagship store as well. So, what are you waiting for? Email [email protected] to make an appointment with a Vera Wang consultant and be treated to an unforgettable wedding shopping experience!
