A Resort Wedding Showcase at The Sentosa
There’s something joyous about celebrating your nuptials outdoors. The bright sunshine adds a glow to your happiness, and fresh spring blooms perfume the air as your loved ones wish you well in your new journey into married life. A luxurious resort wedding is the perfect way to relax and enjoy our sunny island’s lush tropical flora and beautiful seascape, and that’s exactly what The Sentosa, A Beaufort Hotel showcased on 27 October, as the resort unveiled three new wedding themes to the many couples who came for its bridal show, An Experience to Remember.
The resort wedding experience began as couples imagined being driven up in style in the classic Rolls Royces flanking the resort’s entrance. Polished to a high shine and decorated with elegant red roses, the vintage cars started off the idyllic Sunday afternoon with expectations of luxury that The Sentosa fully met. In the lobby, couples were treated to the harmonies of a string quartet as they browsed the colourful displays of the wedding vendors present, and snapped photos of the dessert table overflowing with cake pops and themed cupcakes.
Led by the attentive wedding team, couples were taken to peruse the resort’s ballrooms, perfect for celebrations of up to 300 seated guests. The elegant rooms were transformed for the day as The Sentosa revealed its brand new weddings themes. Carnival of Love, striking and modern with black and red table settings, featured a stylish five-tier wedding cake decorated with ribbons and crowned with gerberas in a ravishing deep red. Enchanted Garden set girlish hearts aflutter with its sweet pastels and delicate butterflies.
The bold Oriental Chic theme captured attention with its gorgeous blend of traditional motifs and bright colours. Artfully shaped to look like Chinese boxes, the stunning Oriental Chic wedding cake was painted with peonies and lace motifs for a nod to classic Shanghai glamour that was utterly believable in the ballroom’s charming wood panelled walls and elegant mirrors. Presented with each theme was a luxurious designer gown by couture fashion houses such as Oscar de le Renta and Amsale, specially selected by The Atelier Bridal.
Outside, couples saw how the Straits Verandah could be a serene venue for solemnisations of up to 100 seated guests, with panoramic sea views offering a beautiful backdrop to that special day. Down a short flight of stairs, the romantic Spice Island Point charmed couples who dream of saying their vows in a beautiful outdoor wedding. After admiring the crisp white tiffany chairs and floral decorations on an immaculate lawn, couples stepped off Spice Island Point into the halls indoors, where The Sentosa showcased a wedding tablescape dressed with flowers and ribbons in royal purples and passionate reds.
Couples then hopped into buggies to be chauffeured on a tour of the resort’s other facilities. Those looking for an indulgent resort wedding experience considered the two-bedroom Garden Villas, each with a private pool and a garden terrace that can host an intimate ceremony of up to 30 guests. Perched atop a cliff, the Gazebo offers views of the South China Sea for a cosy solemnisation. The couples also learned that wedding packages include indulgent couple spa sessions at the resort’s award-winning Spa Botanica, home to private outdoor spa pavilions and Asia’s first mud pools. Brides-to-be were radiant when they heard that for some serious pampering, the garden destination spa offers a three-hour Bridal Bliss package to soothe their stress away and leave them beautiful inside and out with its sweet-scented Rose Aromatherapy treatments.
Back in the elegant Straits Ballroom, couples got to taste the resort’s fine international menu. Their gorgeous buffet spread featured such delicacies as Steamed Sea Bass with Ginger and Garlic in Spring Onion Sauce, Nori Wrapped Salmon with an Asian Greens Salad, a creamy Potato Au Gratin with Gruyere and Leeks, and Crispy Roasted Chicken. For dessert, The Sentosa laid out an indulgent array of rich chocolate dainties and luscious cheesecakes, and an assortment of wedding themed cookies and cake pops.
Elegant new wedding themes, trendsetting wedding vendors, tropical paradise surroundings and luxurious private villas made the bridal show an experience to remember. That day, The Sentosa, A Beaufort Hotel played host to many a couple’s vision of their own romantic resort wedding.
