Lovely Lady Locks
The latest Disney princess, Rapunzel, left girls and women of all ages coveting long, magical hair as they sauntered out of the cinema. While we may not have the formula for hair that radiates sunshine, here are some little ways you can turn your lacklustre hair into bouncy, shiny locks that will turn heads.
In The Shower Use shampoo and conditioner that have ingredients like olive oil, jojoba, and rice proteins that enhance shine. Try Organix Healing Mandarin Olive Oil Shampoo (S$8.90). Remember to alternate these products with your regular shampoo to prevent product build-up. After you shampoo, apply a conditioner evenly and thoroughly on your ends; and if your hair has been coloured, use a mask weekly to keep hair healthy and replenish the moisture it needs. We recommend Skin Food’s Shea Butter Hair Mask (S$28.10).
Let It Shine! After towel-drying your hair, your next step is to apply a shine serum or glossing cream. Try L’Oreal Pro Serie Expert Liss Ultime Reflexium Shine Serum (S$29.90). Massage a twenty cent coin-sized dollop of the product evenly through your locks.
Blow Like a Pro Celebrity hair & makeup artist, Andrea Claire, recommends a round natural-bristle brush when you blow dry your hair. Start at the roots and hold the dryer such that the nozzle is aimed downwards and never against the shaft.
Spritz Some Shine Finally, while your hair is still warm from the hairdryer, flip your hair upside down and spritz some shine spray. This method will make sure you don’t have too much product build-up at the roots, which weighs down your hair.
