Work Dilemma

I wonder if anyone has any inputs to this dilemma of mine.

I don't like my dept... and I want to transfer to another dept at the end of this year in Dec.

However, I'm due for a promotion soon. If everything is good, I would be promoted April next year, 2011. If not, I will be promoted in April 2012.

Should I wait to see if I will get a promotion in April 2011 before leaving or should I just go at the end of the year?

Transfer of dept is an opportunity that comes once yearly. If I miss this Dec 2010 transfer, the next time I can transfer is in Dec 2011.

Promotion is also important because that increases my rank in the company, yet I dislike my dept so much I don't want to stay more than necessary, I want to get out of it as soon as I can.

It depends on what you put more emphasis on: rank within the company (and ultimately more money) or personal happiness. Only you can answer this question yourself.

u dun like your dept, but they are promoting u, and u even know when u'll be promoted... and that the other dept u'll surely like.

the whole company is pretty screwed up. and u're so fake to stay...

TS, if u are so unhappy in ur current dept now, why wait to get promoted there then? won't it be the same old shit u will be facing again even after promotion?
