Who should I invite for my banquet dinner?

Hi I am writing this as I am in a dilemma on which friends to invite for my banquet. I held my rom a few months back in a country club ballroom where I paid about $60 per pax. I invited about 60 close friends in all. Guess what? I had 4 friends who came empty handed >_<" and a few who gave me soft toys as presents. One even came empty handed with her Husband. I don't mean to be calculative etc but for me, I won't attend someone's rom empty handed. As a result, I am wondering if I should invite those "friends" again for my banquet. Some of those "friends" are actually quite close to me. This time round for my banquet, I will be holding at a hotel which is not cheap per pax (~$1300 per table). I really can't imagine if I still have empty handed friends or friends who come with soft toys :( I am not a very young girl (Turning 30 in a few years and I don't need soft toys zzzz)

Has anyone experienced this before? Could you share your experience or give some advice of what I should do. Thank you!

Hi Enchantedgal,
I think you should only invite the important friends whom you really want them to be part of your special day.
It is your wedding and you don't have to feel bad if you do not wish to invite those who are no longer "that close" or has not been in much contact anymore :)
