What should i do now?

No room for other possibilities? No, I merely dispute the appropriateness to link food with abortion. I DID NOT SAY ABORTION IS A NONO and there is no issues with relate animal and human eggs... be it fertilized or not.

Why put me on this ridiculous stand? Don't pull me in your discussion with Who?Me? I already indicated my unwillingness to continue with this endless discussion.

the whole point here is the TS, if either of u actually bother to consider her options... all i did was offer another option tat might be taboo, and both of u went on and on abt your beliefs...

seriously if i was in difficulty, u are not frens i'd ask for advice becos u dun seem to wanna consider MY options, my well-being, my future.

at which point did u Ever consider and put the TS's consideration above your own?

milo,

u're more caught up with the correcting the egg issue to your standards, u're simply stuck there for how many days liao?? this whole interpretation seems more important to u than the well-being of the TS, dun u think?

i dun think i need to argue this with u. let's assume u're right abt the whole thing, now what? what's next?

i dun mean to be rude, but it's been how many days... u have been more focused on proving me wrong than just letting it be an option given.

oh there's a comment on abortion in sunday times today that some of u should read, it's on that page with some of the blogosphere stuff...

Good evening bro. This is the 3rd time I'm indicating that I'm not willing to discuss further with you on this one. Thanks to respect that.

Vios or others, I will also refrain to respond to any of yours comments on this issue to avoid bring this whole thing back again. I really want to move on. If you insist, there is nothing I can to but exercise control not to respond.

Will contribute and exchange with u all in other threads.

Cheers all.

At the outset I have said that our beliefs are not important in this discussion. Yes, we can share our beliefs - I think once is enough.

The choice of abortion lies solely on the mother and her alone.

We don' have to make her more guilty than necessary with our "beliefs".

We are argue till the cow comes home.. or we think our beliefs are the truth .. still it is best to leave the mother to make that decision herself.

Milo, If you are not willing to discuss.. just don't respond. It is that simple. I have done it many times..

milo,

then just read... u realise i'm not too keen either, putting on a suggestion and having to be grilled for a long while... it made me feel like i'm in a ministry invite, only to being grilled until i accept christianity. tat's how i feel...

i dun think i forced abortion down any of your throats at all, nor did i offer it as a must-do solution.

sm is right, once is enough. i think i made the mistake of indulging those of u hell-bent on converting me to an anti-abortion-ist.

it's not like i was pushing for an abortion in this whole episode. it's obvious who have been the pushy ones...

yup, our beliefs are not important in this discussion...

Our values and beliefs are internal forces that guide us in our lives. But let us not try to understand or pass judgement to others through those values and beliefs of ours.

some food for thought to start off the 1st day of the week... [sic?]

"Why do some pple wax lyrical abt something and not be as enthusiastic in action more than they are in speech?"

ie pple who talk abt how there are couples who can't have children, Before they talk abt how precious life is... and in real life they dun really appreciate Life as intensely as in words?

ie pple who talk abt hunger, poverty, yet do little but simply live their own selfish lives with self-serving agendas and hardly doing more for society other than talking abt the underpriviledge?

like i said, just food for thought...

ps: tomasulu, u might like to start arguing how it is in fact sunday, and not monday, that's the first day of the week and we have several posts arguing over this.

i feel very neglected, obviously everyone has bo chup me since my post on oct 6. Yes i'm a brat indulging in self-pity right now without the desired attention... I SULK
sad.gif

shooooo shoooo, all move on to different thread from here...

powder, start another thread leh, got argument over which is first day of week? tot most dictionaries consider sunday to be the first day?

milo, noted...

honestly i can see where u're coming from, as initially, i was left abit confused with powder's elaboration when it went further and further.
lol.gif

after i had cleared that part, i am contributing mainly because i'm concerned that the misinterpretion might spread like wildfire - and consequently, the diversion of its Actual Point...

which was why, it was understandably felt (by powder and probably others) that u are totally pro-Birth when in actuality, u also do consider the varied circumstances as well.

wj,

tat's the whole idea... we can argue over sunday being the 1st day, or we can simply be honest to ourselves and acknowledge that most of us take monday as the 1st day...

obviously there's always those pple who will insist on sunday as The Answer (100marks!), then laugh and mock at those who dun know... it's a very typical thing isn't it. this right/wrong, black/white attitude...

vios,

i'm Pro-Options... i obviously have my religion which is against abortion n condoms (at one stage), but i dun follow it blindly. i recognise the fact that some choices are necessary for the greater good. umbrella rules are for the un-initiated, like a fence for the little sheeps who wander and cannot find their way back. if u know your mountains well, u dun need the fence to keep u in.

i dun like the other sheeps to tell me, "hey u cannot wander out".

1st day of the week.. is obviously an artificial construct of human beings.

So it can be different for different people.

Like in some muslim countries, 1st day of the week is saturday.

For me, I feel like tuesday is the 1st day of the week..

ha ha ..

Normally I will decline meeting on monday.. I prefer to keep it open for me to gather thoughts and plan for the week.. So monday, normally I at home - maybe make some phone calls and emails.. that is all.

Europe will come in on monday afternoon but is ok.. can wait till tueday. And obviously for US, our work day will start on tuesday to correspond with them..

powder, my exchange with you has nothing to do with the original thread.

i am not the least bit motivated to convert you to my beliefs either. i called you out for your retarded analogy relating abortion to eating eggs. believe me, i would have stopped had you not return to the same analogy again and again. it is laughable that after all your persistent and diversionary potshots, you are now taking on this farcical pretense of being a victim of strong views. what a cry baby.

tomasulu,

my exchange with u has much to do with the original thread, it's where the option of abortion came about.

i'm ok if u 'catch' me or dispute me on what i'm saying... do note tat i'm according u (and milo too) with much respect without having to use personal terms. it's only with selected individuals tat i use those terms, but i dun use it with u becos i recognise u have a pretty good mind in your head.

i have disputed it being used as an analogy more than once... my focus in reference was to the Mental-state we're in, Not to the act itself. i was drawing a link to how our minds can have double-standards on issues - which also points the fact that our beliefs have double standards... i might have overestimated your ability to understand the link. or perhaps u're too concerned with proving me wrong, or out-proving me... to actually be bothered to look deeper. or your sense of logic may prevent u from making a link there...

whatever it is, if i'm retarded, stupid, laughable or ridiculous (milo's fave), then so be it...

do understand one thing... despite seemingly 'winning arguments', i have little interest in that. whether u're gonna accord me with that benefit of a doubt is entirely up to u... believe it or not, my ego seldom speaks when i'm in here.

yes powder but we have deviated from TS' situation. and she has decided to keep the baby. i don't think there's much to be said beyond that.

i don't have a problem with your nuanced, ambivalent or even, if i may, inconsistent view on abortion. my problem is with your analogy (or whatever) which i feel demeans human life, fully formed or otherwise. btw, saying your analogy is retarded is different from calling you a retard. anyway, i assumed you have broad shoulders and can take a few brickbats thrown your way. let me know if i am wrong.

things dun work tat way... ie her decision does eradicate her options, and definitely does not make the option moot at the time when i brought it up. so pls dun use her decision as a backing.

do i demean life? most pple including yourself who have been around long enough, know well that i dun demean nor make light of life... it's actually the other way around.

saying what i say is retarded is fine... it doesn't make it any less personal regardless of how u try to change it. u're only accepting your own argument becos u're the one putting it forth...
