Hi all, Anyone gone through their wedding by having a wedding lunch? Appreciate if you could advise me regarding this. I am getting married on the year 2010. Have yet to choose an AD though

hi wendy, I'm also having a wedding lunch instead of dinner. My AD is not over though, same like u in 2010. what else do u want to know?

Mine is a small wedding with immediate family members & close friends of 4 tables.We choose to have wedding lunch,so that we have more time on our own after that.
 
Hihi, I'm also having wedding lunch in 2010. we have not booked a venue yet, still looking around. Any ideas how to make a wedding lunch more interesting?
 
suimitao: same as dinner, u can do up a wedding montage also to show ur guests. We are doing that for our AD next yr

yup. u also doing lunch? only can do montage cos i've asked ard, all the videography say got no time to do a morning highlights for lunch.. isit weird if the morning highlights is done in a photo montage way rather than video?
 
yes, I wrote in my earlier post on top that I'm having lunch too

yup, VG wun have time to do express highlights for u cos they need 4-5hrs to do it, cannot do in time to show during ur lunch.

our montage does not include morning highlights, we have no time to do also on that day. we are actually using all the pics taken during our courtship days till now to make as montage. u can use ur childhood pics too if u can find them.
 
i have just confirmed my PG & VG and they are confident of churning out morning highlights for my lunch banquet. So far, they are the 1st who told me it can be done.. As i am planning to show it during my 2nd march-in, will have 4 hrs interval..
 
really? Kristine can u share with me ur package for the PG and VG service? this is the first time i heard that it is possible to do so... hehe thanks for the info! where are u holding ur lunch?
 
I have engaged Visioworkz..holding my lunch in Fullerton. AD is Oct 2010

what they will do is they will pick up the tape after the morning activities(abt 9am) and go back studio edit..after edit done then send to hotel for me by the agreed time(130pm). they say have done for few couples before + they are recommended by a fren..

i tink wif lunch weddings gaining popularity, VG have to be flexible and find ways to work ard the timing..
 
kristine: make sure they put it down in black and white and a partial refund or compensation if they fail to deliver.
 
i see.. ya i also feel that this is workable but all the vg seems like not flexible, straight away say NO not enough time..
 
hi thomas, thks for the reminder.. i will have backup plan..will pass them photos for montages in case they cannot get the video express out in time..

their package can either video express + smaller album or photo montage + bigger album...at the same price..so its sort of interchangeable..

of cos i will make sure everything is in black & white before i sign on the dotted line
 
Hi Kristine, may i know which package did you take? isit the promotion for 2010? wonder whether will there be any cheaper for lunch.. because it is not a full day service like dinner
 
hi suimitao, yes i took the 2010 promo..will not be cheaper for lunch cos they go by hrs(up to 10 hrs svc)..if u compare lunch vs dinner, its actually the same hrs used, just that dinner have a break time in between...

My AD shld be from 7am to 4pm/5pm so its abt 9-10 hrs too..
 
I'm also holding wedding lunch for next yr oct too!!! hehe.. looks like it's getting more popular. I have recently confirmed my VG + PG. Total at $1330 for both. hehe.. and they also promised to finish the video montage by 2nd march in. In order to save some time, they will also add in some of my pre wedding photos in the video. So excited!! I'm currently looking at a private dinner function in the evening for close family and frens(abt 20 pax). Any recommendations?

Hi, i'm new here. Would like to check how is the flow like if getting wedding lunch and have customary in the morning. Cos i was thinking to hold a wedding lunch instead of wedding dinner for my AD.

Hi All!

We are also planning for our gatecrash, tea ceremony, solemnisation and wedding lunch on the same day, only difference is I would prefer tea ceremony to be done at home.
Anyone can share itinerary (sample below):
Gatecrash > HTB's house (tea ceremony) > My house (tea ceremony) > Hotel (Solemnisation) > Lunch

Will this be too rush? Will we still have time for photography along the way / at the hotel prior to lunch?

I'm planning almost the same as your @mrandmrsertobe ! except that I will probably do away with gatecrash and solemization (we are doing it earlier and not on AD). I plan to have pick up the bride > outdoor photography (save on the pre wed shots! hahaha), head to hotel for tea ceremony just before lunch.

My friend did almost the same sequence as yours and it was quite rushed. But it also depend how near/far ur house and your htb's house is. And also how far the hotel is.
