Dear BTB,

I have a Vera Wang wedding dress which I bought pre-owned from overseas for AUD5,550.
I have send in my gown for the above company to dryclean after reading all the claims about their services. I also spoke to Salesperson who boast about their experience and assure my gown is in good hands.

The dress came back damaged: fabric over stretched, tulle/organza torn off, and floral rosettes flatten. I took the immediately to a reputable seamstress (who uses to do VW gowns) and they advised that it cannot be restored to original condition anymore. I asked the Cleaner to pay for damages of $4k. The cleaner (Company Name is 1919 Laundry and DryClean services based in Toa Payoh) offered a only $500 to which I rejected They also did not refund the dry clean clean $150 nor pay for the seamstress restoration charges $300. They said let the court "decide".

I am now stranded with a damaged dress and my weddding is less than 3 months away.
I just want to warn all BTB against this irresponsible drycleaner. Please spread the word when u read this messgae. They should be put out of business.

Up for awareness.
I m lodging the case with Small Claims Tribunal (SCT) directly as I advised by my lawyer that CASE may eventually refer to SCT if no resolution.

Just to let all BTB know that any unreasonable clauses which limit a drycleaner to a very low liability may not be enforceable and can be struck off in court.
Do know your rights.
