Hi there!

I would like to have some opinions from existing homeowners on this topic..

If you have sufficient downpayment for all options, chances of living overseas the next 2-3 years but most likely going back to sg in 5-10 years time, what will u go for?

Hi, why not consider BTO as there are some great location to consider in the BTO sale in Nov. Great location - Bedok ( beside Bedok Mall and MRT ), Kallang ( Beside Kallang MRT ) and of cos the much hyped Bidadari location. That is, if you dont mind waiting.

I might go for condo for your case as there are no restriction to lease and you can earn back some money to cover your installment. You cant rent out the whole unit of EC and HDB until after the "5 years lock in period a.k.a M.O.P )

But do choose the location and product wisely if you do decide to cash out in the future ")

Hi there! I see. I'm just a little concern about the monthly repayments. Abit conserved as we are also doing some family planning and expenses just keep going higher n higher..

Thanks for your advise! =)

I heard that EC are now most recommend to get. As it's best for investing in. Jump is higher than hdb. What are your views on this?

Hi Sue Ho,
I'd beg to differ on that. Ultimately, it boils down to location. My friend bought an EC in Woodlands earlier in 2008 when she got married. Big mistake. Yes, there has been increase in valuation, but barely enough to cover inflation, not even to say make a actual profit. And if she were to move out now to get a resale flat or condo, she'd end up actually making a loss, so now she's kind of stuck in a situation. Thus, I'd really advise you to be cautious about this.
Firstly you need to ask yourself whether the aim of buying this property is more for investment, or settling down. Then based on which is your priority, then you strategise.

House is a consumption asset, never an investment. Unless u have intention to rent out to generate income after purchase. Jus my tots.

If it's your 1st house and u wanted something more atas, i think you should go for HUDC ... or EC your choice.. getting a condo for your 1st house is nt advisable unless u're really well to do
