Traditions VS Convenience

Hi,

I'll just like to ask if anyone has done such things...

Instead of the norm tradition of gatecrashing & then couple and bride's entourage will proceed to Groom's place. Serve tea etc eat noodles, then change clothes & go back to bride's place. Would it be possible to do at these at 1 venue?

Eg, the groom comes, gatecrashes, fetches the bride and everyone in the bride's family will then proceed to a venue. The solemnization ceremony will then commence, followed by serving of tea to PILs and elderlys at the same place. This will end with a small buffet lunch.

Any advices on its feasibility (as in any complaints against tradition)

I dunno abt traditions. But I used to have the same idea as you. My dream wedding plan was:

Book a suite at Rasa Sentosa and a villa at Beaufort. Rasa will be my "niang jia". Villa will be "groom's house".
On the wedding morning, groom will fetch me using the beach trolley or buggy as the wedding car. He'll fetch as per normal fr Rasa to villa, tea ceremony there, then back to Rasa, tea ceremony again.
Then at night, dinner at beaufort...

But then... this cannot be done liao... It can only remain in my dreams.

we are planning to have this on our wedding in sep 2009... HTB fetches me in the morning, no gate crashing at all, then everyone proceed to our hotel for solemnization then followed by tea ceremony immediately at the same place.. after that will be cocktail reception and start of wedding banquet lunch...

all in one afternoon and at the same place..
