Thyroid before becoming preggie gd news?

Hi All,

I am married for almost 3yrs and really yearning for a child soon.

last yr, went for a checkup and discovered i am not ovulating. Thus, went thru clomid medication cum chinese medicine. Was ovulating, but no good news. So, went over to consult gynae, he promised mi that by doing IUI, i will be preggie cos he suspect my womb lining is thinning. Was really happy, that there is some hope. Too bad, was diagnosed with thyroid recently! Couldnt' go thru IUI, waiting for specialist to improve my thyroid condition first before even talking about conceiveing.

In other words, is there anybody out there having similar situation n condition as mi? Pls share.. i am really devasted.
 


hi, thyroid b4 preg is ok, as long as you bring it down (hyper, not hypo) to acceptable level, gynae can manage from there. just that it will take a while, maybe 6-9mths before you try again.
 
mine is hyper one. But whether complicated case or not.. see the specialist first.

Are you a successful case?
 
hyper shd be ok. My wife is with our first kid. We took a year for thyr treatment before we tried. Gynae says a little hyper in preg also normal.
 
oH is it? Then when ur wife is preggie, is her thyroid condition under control? Wat is the control limit? How she manange to cope with it?

Congrats, guess ur case will help mi to boost up my confidence a bit..
 
Hi My galfren who was hyper took medications w/o fail and she manages to conceive her 1st bb at 37yrs old! The keyword is not to slack on the daily medications!!
 
Does the thyroid medication has any side effect?

Perhaps, my path to conceiving is rather bumpy.. so a bit paranoid here...

My GP mentioned that thyroid medication need to take at least 1 and a 1/2 yr huh? Only such a period, thyroid is under control?

Really thank you for ur encouragement. But, my hubby doenst even wanna to hv sex to prevent mi from getting preggie! Anyway, i need to undergo IUI to improve my chance of conceiving too!
Do i really need to avoid seaweed? do not exercise streneously...?

sunnyday> im getting married next yr so have not tried for baby yet but spoke to doc abt this issue. He say if im pregnant, he will switch me to another medication and the pregnancy should be okie. Just take your meds on time and things shld be fine

Congrats to ur marriage. Oh really>? But my doc dun really encourage pregnanacy until all signs are clear.. I hope i can cope with it.. Thx once again

Who is ur gynae? Mine is Dr Charles Lim while my endocrine specialist is Dr Gwee Hai Meng, both from MT E.

So envious of you.. i will try harder but, w/o my hubby help, how?
