i've been asked multiple times by friends.. what is the theme of my wedding? would like to ask, how do you settle down on a theme? and what is the theme to be used for?? as in pre wedding photoshoot theme? wedding banquet venue decor theme?? or any others??

anyone to enlighten me??

if to select a theme.. which means e entire wedding has to be that?? from the decor to sisters and brothers dressing??
sorry, if i sound like a noob.. just a lil confuse..

ok. i guess will be a tough job.. because we have more or less finalize what the brothers and sisters going to wear, but couldn't draw out a theme from this. which actually everyone keep asking us, what's our theme...

hmm..i guess u dont have to be too bothered to account to others and force a theme out of your own wedding. i have been to weddings that dont have a theme and for me, i don't intend to have a theme. it will just be made up of ideas/colours that i like and will like to have at my wedding :)

Our wedding didn't have any particular theme either but we did pick a particular colour (shades of purple) for bridesmaids dresses, flowers and deco (we had balloons and streamers). We also had some friends asking us if we had any particular theme to which we replied no but we did tell them that the bridesmaids will be dressed in purple and so will the flowers and deco too.. This is not so much that our guests will come in purple too but rather to avoid wearing purple lest their dress clash with the bridesmaids' or that they become an indirect replica camouflage of the surrounding deco hehe...

Hi, it really depends on what u like.. I have a colour theme.. So its easier to coordinate for AD.. For decor to bridesmaids dresses.. But for the theme style is abit vintage glam.. With a touch of garden floral theme. But really thats what i want.. With actual theme so that easier to get the decor style.. But most frens juz get whatever they liked... Its ur wedding.. My advice is u can try going with whats is ur usual style.. Den theme or not, the wedding reflects u.. And it will be great!!!

Hey girls! I'm a bit confused about this theme thing too.. My hotel package comes with decorations already. So if I want to have theme, my theme has to match the decor in the hotel in order to save money, right? I asked my hotel coordinator and she said if want to change here and there must top up $$.. Any brides got experience with altering the hotel decor to fit their theme?

Im also getting my coordinator to help me she says if its within the same budget,.... the flowers n all can be changed to my tastes...

Yup, hotel has their own theme for you to choose stated in the package. If you don't like you can source for your own vendor as well but I'd tell you it's not cheap.. I enquired before its at least few thousand bucks for the entire place depends on the complexity and space.

Wah like that super not worth it! I asked my hotel coordinator and she said if I want to make some changes I can speak to the hotel's flower provider.. Mebbe she can give some discount. See how lor... My bouquet etc also haven't settled

The first thing I set was the color theme... Then I just try to incorporate the things I like into the wedding.. Going for some classic jazzy kinda feel... I don't think there's such theme as classic jazzy.. But i just wan to have that "feel"
The color theme will be the major factor into designing the venue n stuff

Babe your reception/banquet is in a hotel? :)

Yes, it is in a hotel.. The coordinator also say i can speak to the flower vendors and stuff to change the flowers and abit of decor.. I think There will be quite abit of diy on my part still.. (Im working on it) But i will get them to be in tune with me as close as possible... The colors n all..

Thanks! I just emailed my coordinator and she said can tweak to my preference if it's within the budget XD

It really depends wor.. Some ppl choose their themes and work within the hotel means to match the theme or they purchase services to create the theme at the hotel. The latter method is more costly. Some ppl choose the available themes offered by the hotels. Most hotels got good range of themes form orientalist to fairytale or white wedding or contemporary colour themed wedding. U can find out more from ur shortlisted hotels. It's cheaper to Work around or together with what the hotel can offer as part of the package.

Hmmm like myself I am very dreamy and I love fairy tales so my wedding theme is fairytale wedding by the sea coz my banquet is held at Rasa Sentosa.
Then I asked my hotel coordinator what are the colour of the flowers deco they can offer to match my theme. They said they can do champagne, pink and purple flower decos which I loved. Then the wedding gown and evening gown I chose all are 3 meter long to match my theme hahaha..
I did my fairytale dance March in too!
But I don't determine what my guests are to wear.. It's really up to them :)
