just want to share this great driver/guide who took us on a one-day trip during our recent taiwan trip. his contacts :

some examples on how great his service was :
- 于大哥 is a 50+ driver with an infectious haughty laugh that will put you at ease from the first phone call. first time we call him from sgp (upon a recommendation from tripadvisor), we told him our special child cannot walk, that's why we want to take it slow, he offered to piggyback our ger. and he did offer many times during our trip.
- he drives a toyota wish which was very comfortable for our family of 3. he can take up to 4 pax and is most suitable for a family of 4. he told us that many of his guests travel with him to different towns with their luggages in his car, and he can arrange accommodation as well. we are intending to do that next year, as it is a waste of time and you can't go far if you base in taipei.
- along the way to a town, we saw a fishing port & wanted to stop. he was totally ok & allowed us as much time as we want
- he kept asking if there was anything he could help with regards to caring for our ger. he was quick to advise us if we can use our strollers at each stop over, & was the first to help us unload each time we stop.
- he told us to take our time at each stop over, & only told us to hurry at one spot as he wanted to rush us in time to catch the waterfall before night falls.
- he took us all the way into the waterfalls area when other drivers just stood outside waiting for their guests. he brought us to a spot where others did not know. he also kept watch behind hubby who was carrying my ger as we navigate up and down a steep stairs while in the rain. when i jokingly commented that he can ignore me & just take care of my hubby with my ger, he replied with a laugh tat he had full intentions to do that. : )
- he was very chatty and knowledgeable about a lot of things & talked to us throughout the whole journey.
- he was really easy to talk to, and not stubborn or unfriendly, like some other taxi drivers we met later on. we could even talk about politics as a matter-of-factly which is a strict no-no with taiwan drivers!
he also sprang some surprises on us along the trip, which i shall not disclose as these are his "tricks" to up his customer satisfaction quotient, which he is actually very proud of. we highly recommend him for a worry-free trip, and you can block book him for days if you want to travel to different towns, and he can even plan for you once you have an idea the areas you want to visit.
however, he speaks only chinese, so can only take chinese speaking guests. as he is very hot in the market now, please only confirm your dates with him if you are very sure you want to engage him so as not to cost him other business. you can email him for advice on planning, but please write in chinese for a faster response and allow 3-4 days for him to reply as he is out all day with guests. for fastest response, just give him a call!
he may not be one of the cheapest guide/driver around, but he is definitely one you will not regret engaging! : )
