Spouse refuse to get a divorce. Help!

NO NO NO!

I'm not targeting at Takeflight.

I'm stating the above in general. I'm repsonding to my earlier discusison where Vios seemed pretty uptight about, but for which Qwerty could see what I was driving at, viz, instant gratification.

I'm sure Takeflight knows best what needs to be done and we are only here to offer our opinions.

Takeflight in my above posts is a matter of figure of speech, it can be anyone. Anyone can be in that situation.

There is no instant gratification in divorce. By the way, I suspect that you do not have a clear understanding of the two words - "instant" and "gratification" as well as the meaning of the two words combined.

By the way, no one can teach you style. Either you have it or don't. Give yourself more time and more practice and you may develop a flare?

I think you are getting it all wrong yourself.

Please, hey btw, I'm going to town now. You want to meet up for a further chat?

I find it painfully slow to type out everything about how I feel here. Words get miscontrued.

Maybe you would like to explain further the meanings of "instant", "gratification" and the 2 combined?

Btw, I'm still waiting for your help on sarcasm with style and resonance.

Ok, suppose I have no style.

How about you give me an example of how it should be done? Oh come on, just one here. Of how I should have responded to the earlier post.

Since you commented I should do it with more style, and I presume you should have it, else you wouldn't comment it.

No style won't die.....But perhaps when you next use sarcasm or humour in expression, you have to state disclaimer?

We should go back on topic and try to help those who are in sticky situations.

Ok, since you refuse to show an example, I suppose you have no style for sarcasm too.

That's true. No style so what.

So why you bother asking me to try harder next time then?

I'd be nuts to build a style for sarcasm cos that's not my intention in life and neither am I paid for it.

We've gone quite off topic for now. I think Takeflight's case is more important. So if he/she is still here, pls help him/her out.

Ok I got to go now. Have a good evening.

Wah lau David, it’s not written as a personal attack…. it’s written in a way because I don’t subscribe to your ideology. Yes, I described your reasoning as ‘silly’, and it’s only that... not you, as the writer. Just like I don’t regard the scriptwriter ‘stupid’ when I feel that the movie itself is ‘stupid’. Get the difference?

But of course if you are honestly pissed with my comment, I will apologize.

Nonetheless, I still stick to my stand that the first half of your initial post (on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 - 11:53 am), you seem to indicate the use of Internet and modern technology plays a major influence in causing a relationship to falter (ie.Divorce), hence I disagree with this linkage on ‘Instantaneous Response’.

And my subsequent posts aim to disagree (from your initial post) that while it might be true that the current generation might have lesser stress tolerance levels as compared to the older generations… it boils right down to the values of the latter generation (which includes self-sacrifice for bad reasons). It shldn’t be the pinpointing on the Internet and modern technology to a large extent.

But of course, in your next post you argued that you are actually questioning on ‘How the present mass media (Internet included) change the way we deal with relationships. Is it also a case of "what we see happening around us, and so we do it the same way too?" (Think Western influence of divorce on our Asian culture.)’

Well, I view this as an open-ended discussion, but look at your initial post (1st half) – you've already look it as “Big Culprit”… and you somewhat blame ‘the instantaneous digital lifestyle’ as an influence on Divorces – to me, it’s pretty much negativity written over it from the start.

Go ahead…. call me ‘poor reader’, call me a ‘non Uni-graduate’… I don’t really give a damn, cos’ im not as uptight and I welcome criticisms too.

P/S: For the record, i pretty much agree with most of your second half (initial post) – see my last paragraph (on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 9:39 am)

Qwerty, no… I don’t see my reasons as ‘wiser’ or myself as 'smarter'..… but perhaps, more tuned to those troubled individuals who seek this forum for opinions...

and as i disagree with David's opinion, i hope that they will self-reflect (as a whole) instead of looking for something or someone to blame.

Dear takeflight,

hope you are still reading this thread because I think you can bring back the so called "feelings" and save your marriage. Probably, you don't want to tell too much about your marriage due to privacy and i can understand that.

Sorry to say that marriages built on the foundation of "feelings" will never last and is the root cause of divorce. This is because our heart is deceiving us all the time and our feelings follows our heart.

Our feelings are affected by all things around us and if we don't lead our heart, we will make wrong decisions. For takeflight, if all you lost is only feelings, you can save your marriage by building it on the foundation of LOVE! Show more patience and kindness to your spouse and you will experience LOVE in your marriage.

You can do this by taking "The Love Dare" challenge, PM me for more info.

For those who still love your spouse and wants to save your marriage, you can do it no matter how bad your situation is, you just need to rebuild your marriage on the foundation of LOVE and learn to lead your heart.

looks like the ts has moved on and gotten his legal stuff done....

while divorce is not to be encouraged, children should not be the only reason to stay in marriage..kids are very attuned to their environment..my own children are very happy when they see us parents cuddling and having a lovey dovey (no indecency) time in front of the telly...

a loveless presence is telling the child that marriage is just that, a shell, no need for love..so if you need to get out of a marriage, get out...the child is better off learning from a divorce about what love may be...
