Some suggestions

I think it would be good if we can choose to sort the thread either by date or by alphabetic order of the thread. This way, it pleases everyone. And at one glance, we will be able to customise what we want to view.

Hi Chin Leng
Just wonder if the "search" function could be improve.

Eg: If I want to search for something which i know it appear in a specific thread, like "cooking recipe as promised". Is it possihle to just search in this particular thread rather than having to search through the whole of "Anything under the sun".

Alternatively, maybe can make it like when we click on "cooking recipe as promised" or any specific thread, there is a search engine that just search on that particular thread.

Also, can the specific term i use to search, like "dried chilli", the dried be highlighted, just like in any other search engine, the search word will always be highlighted.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Skystar and Jpniel,

Thanks for the suggestions. We'll see if we can implement them.

Chin Leng,

First of all, thank you for all your hard work and efforts in maintaining this msg board. It is huge! Must be a lot of hard work. Moreover, sometimes still kena complain.

Anyway, I am just wondering why we cannot edit our posts after 20 minutes. It cannot be for security reason because we have to log in first to be able to edit our posts.

I find it a little inconvenient to have to contact you each time I want to edit. Moreover, it is giving you additional work.

Thanks!

Hi Lipstar,

Thank you for your compliments. It is a lot of work to maintain the board but it is not hard as we enjoy what we are doing.

The are two reasons why we've limited the editing allowable time to 20mins.

1. It is for security reason as we would like to prevent a post being hacked into if the user's login name and password was stolen. That way, the user's posting will not be changed and the originator will not need to be afraid of being made responsible for things not posted in the original message.

2. In the reverse situation, we would not want a user to change the message and disclaim any responsibility of the original message by simply changing it and later unabashedly proclaiming to others,"Read my message carefully again! When did I say that?!!!"
