Hi CT, what fish did you ask for? seabass? Garoupa or Soon Hock? Both my mum and MIL didnt quite like to serve sea bass cos they said it's very cheap fish! not soo nice lor.. havent done food tasting yet and wonder if I shld upgrade to garoupa or soon hock..

havent contact Lil'art yet but think their rates not very attractive. hve you check out the rate with them? heard that "Hi-Tech" is quite reasonable.. think it's located at AMK

hi pinkdot, I had the same feeling b4 mine, but the seabass turned out delicious.
Of course, u can opt for better fish with additional cost lor.

Did not research on other printers, so went to lil' art.
 
Hello CT, can you advise did you also choose the sea bass with yellow beans? so how's lil'art service? is it expensive? did they have different paper materials to choose from for the insert?

Hhmm...anyone have any idea if Marriott is going to add more themes or change themes soon?
 
Hi ladies,

I might be able to share some info.

1. My parents just went to a weekday dinner 2 mths ago. Food quite ok. They commended orange sauce ribs, shark's fins & crispy chicken. The rest so-so.
2. Upgrade fish from sea-bass to garoupa is $40 per table. Change soya sauce to yellow bean no extra charge coz fish still the same.
3. Heard they are still shortlisting new themes for 2005. So 2005 brides got the option to choose the current vineyard/oriental theme or the new theme if new themes are confirmed by their mgmt.

Hi pink-dot, my AD is next yr but didn't take Marriott eventually. Initially Marriott was my 1st choice, that's y I got a lot of info. If any ladies need info, I can try to help.

I changed the style of cooking for fish.
Seems like the theme have not changed yet.
Will be meeting my co-ordinator in 3 wks time. Will keep u posted then.

My AD is on Sep04. Yet to chose the theme. I've seen both themes on pics onli ... duno which is gd??? I've yet to collect my cards ... maybe next week. How many cards you hv fm Marriott?

Me going for food tasting this Thur and I also opt for Ee Fu Mian.

Do you think seabass with yellow beans nice or with soya sauce?
I chose the orange sauce ribs over Wan Hao chicken ... duno gd anot????

How much did Lilart charge you? are yours hot-stamping? Hitech is charging $0.35 per pcs, and mould at $80 (hotstamping).. if normal printing, then much cheaper..

I've just called and changed my fish fm soya sauce to yellow beans, for tomorrow. My menu is a mix fm menu 1 and 2.
Angela is my coodinator. U?
If the spare ribs not nice tomorrow, I will chg to chicken instead.

Me lazy to research, so go with the recommended printer.

If we bring wine from outside, any additional charge besides the corkage?

Think will choose the beer & wine.

I gave up coz the planner wasn't that efficient in following up tho friendly. Then all the perks which was promised lapsed.

We were very upset & disappointed with the service so rather dropped them tho I love the ballrm, the location, food also quite ok (according to my parents) & of course the brand name.

Yes, they do charge corkages for external wines..
but try to negotiate with a package deal.. (like $$$ for XX bottles of wines) I forgotten how much my coordinator quoted.. will confirm and get back to you.

Pple still drink beer, and lots of it! hahaha, it's hard liquor that is not so popular now..
am also sourcing for wines.. plan to visit them this fri. will keep you gals posted if there's any good deal!

Am planning to change the wedding flavor. plan is to use back marriott's packageing (save $$$) but change the contents - to some sweets!! hahaha of course, got to source personally!

CT, there won be any corkage charge if u buy wine fron marriott list. corkage charge only applies when u bring ur own wine

Corkage charges is for wine we get externally.

not sure which theme i'll be using, most probably, a mixture of both! haha
My AD is Oct..

Their cheapest wine cost ard S$25 but not sure how does it taste like.. understand we can do wine taste shld we decided to buy direct from hotel.. tomorrow am going to visit the dealer.. they shld be able to do consignment basis (returnable).

I do hve lots of ideals on wedding favors.. a transparent plastic sq box with sugar coated almond.. cookies in self-sew organza pouch etc..
but usually packaging is already expensive, so i thot using back the box Marriott is providing but change the content lor. think 5 sugar-coated almonds are nice as it represent health, wealth, fertility, happiness and long life.. the bitterness of the almond in the sugar coating also represent an impt part of te wedding vow - for better, for worse- and thus the guest symbolically honoured the marriage!

To us, onli the fish with yellow bean is good! Rest of the dishes are of average standard.
I find the orange sauce ribs, shark's fins, red bean desert and Ee Fu mian not so nice last nite, as compared to those I had tried b4 during wedding dinner. heehee.
Wonder if I shld chg to Almond creme and crispy chicken instead.
