SG Bridal in JB

Hi Garfield,

I choose SG Bridal due to the PS album presentation, gown and service as they can provide me what I am looking for.

After visiting so many BS, SG Bridal is the only one that could cater to my requirements at an affordable price.

hi merly,
before i engage JB Bridal, pls share me ur experience.
SG BRIDAL package cost? inclu of?
hw many mins travel from jb custom to SG BRIDAL?

appreciate if you can share with me.
email me [email protected]

thank u =)

I went down to SG Bridal yesterday for my gown fitting session, they were really nice but one thing I don't understand was that they said I could alter them, but they never measured me or whatever before I left the place. I'm kinda confused. Am I supposed to tell them I want them altered? Oh no.. lol.

Hi Garfield, I chose SG cos I really like their design, very modern & coverlook. Their service is also thumbs up!! Nicole was very friendly & accomodating!

June, you are talking about photoshoot gowns rite? They actually use pins to alter your gowns on the actual photoshoot day. They did that for me as well. Was quite ok & jenny did a great job on my hair & the fitting of the gowns.

Hi all,

I need your help in providing advise below :

I will be taking my PS. I am deciding to take Indoor, Sultan Garden and Desaru in 2 different days. Any suggestion on whether I should choose which option?

Option 1
1 day ID+ Sultan Garden
1 day Desaru

or

Option 2
1 day ID
1 day Sultan Garden + Desaru

Also when is the best time for Outdoor PS, espacially for Sultan Garden and Desaru?

Please help. Thanks.

hi merly,
ooh, am not SG bridal BTB but i really like their PS...
just my 2 cents:

Option 1
1 day ID+ Sultan Garden
1 day Desaru

i think this is more optimized...
cos travelling to desaru is nearly 1hr++...
might as well spend the whole day there..include sunset by the beach shots...

and i don't think ID PS can last so long as to go on until evening time..(which is a good time for OD shoot), so best to split the ID day into half day ID, some part sultan gdn (near johor city)and get the evening light there too...

Hi nec,

Thanks a lot for your reply

Initially, I was thinking like what you have said. But I wonder whether I would need bright sunlight for the Sultan Garden shoot??

That's why I was thinking should I do it early in the morning before going off to Desaru.

I just came back from the photoshoot and I would really like to thank SG Bridal for giving us such a wonderful experience. They were really thoughtful, friendly, and made us feel really comfortable. I'm not a photogenic person so I don't know how the pics will turn out.. but they sure made us look really good. All of them were really passionate about their work, because despite them working with us for 12 hours straight.. when all of them were really tired out.. they never let a single imperfection out of their sight. This includes adjusting things.. redoing hair and all without us asking at all. My fiance and I really enjoyed all the times that we had to go down. I hope my pictures turned out okay though.

And it's not their fault if I'm not photogenic.. they probably did the best they can. LOL. Thumbs up.

Hey Merly,

My MUA is Jenny, PG is Kelvin. The crew that attended to us were super funny and friendly, enjoyed ourselves the entire time.

Going to choose the photos this Saturday. I hope I don't look too stiff.. I'm camera shy. :x

Hi June,

Dun worry. I believe both Jenny & Kelvin will make you look good in photos ;)

BTW, where did you went for outdoor PS?

Supposed to be Sultan Garden, but there were politicians in there so we weren't allowed to enter. Thank goodness! My fiance and I hated the sun so we're relieved we didn't have to go for outdoor shoot. So everything was taken indoors. ;D

Wah...Sultan Garden is used for meetings one hah? Maybe I go check their meeting schedule before deciding when to go down Sultan Garden for PS ;)
Any idea how to check the meeting schedule?

Hi June, so you didn't do outdoor? Actually Sultan Garden is very nice, it has a old, rustic charm & my husband & me love the shots there...

Jenny makeup & design is fantastic!! I also had Kelvin as my PG & love it!

Hey Merly: No idea.. cuz Kelvin drove us there only to find that we can't enter. LoL. Maybe can ask them to check or something.

Dina: Heh yea the rustic feel is cool.. but we hate the sun. lol! Went to choose our photos today. Didn't turn out as bad as we thought!

Hi everyone
finally we confirmed our date for our customary since placing deposit last april.. and will be taking our photo (ID & outdoor) early Aug this yr.. anyone care to give some advice like what to prepare & bring to ID photoshoot & OD - both of us??

We booked Ian for the VG & Kenneth for the PG-studio & customary day and also Jenny as MUA.. basically everything is with SG bridal ^_^ was actually thinking whether to book Jenny as MUA but then all the reviews here are good and I saw some of her works during our trip to JB last sat.. so I guessed we could rest assured that everything will be fine...

Dina..still remember me? me & my hubby happened to be at your wedding venue when we are doing research for our hotel venues.. however we booked FRF as our venue.. how's life after married? got your own flat already?
oh ya, i wanna ask is Sultan garden or desaru better? after viewing some of the latest albums there, felt sultan garden is better.. but then beside these 2 places, don't they have other different locations?

Hi adnl, yes I still remember you! Wow, you took up last apr & only did your PS now? SG can wait for so long? Congrats on your upcoming customary! Jenny is good definitely, all my guests commented my hairdo & makeup is nice, my hubby says Jenny did a great job!

I prefer Sultan garden than desaru cos its too far away & we didn't want to spend too many days on PS. And we felt that beaches are the same so we decided to forgo desaru. I think some BS go to Danga bay to take PS but not sure whether its nice or not...

June, during your PS did you use ampoule?

Does anyone know whether we need to use sunblock during outdoor PS?

Dina: I took up during March last year. Only did the PS 3 weeks ago lol.

Merly: Yup, used ampoule.

Ampoule is 30RM. No idea which she gave me, supposed to make the make up more lasting I suppose? Lol.. I'm not too sure myself, would someone advice Merly on this?

Thanks Dina..reading all those reviews Jenny muz be good in what she's doing.. ya we thought of choosing sultan garden..nothing special about desaru after looking at their alblum..any advice like what to prepare & bring to ID photoshoot & OD?

Reading from here, those eyelash & ampoule are additional cost?

Hi adnl, yah, Sultan garden looks old & run-down but the effect of the photos were good!! You definitely won't regret getting Jenny to do makeup!

Prepare the following (i fif this like a year ago so I trying to remember.. kekek):
1. Makeup remover (You don't want to look like you going for getai when u finish PS..)
2. Sunblock
3. Tissues
4. Wedding shoes & casual shoes (I walk in my birkies when I went to Sultan garden)
5. Fake nails (I didn't do manicure so I pasted fake nails)
6. Nipple sticker

I think that's about it, if I can still remember will post again. And yes, eyelash & ampoule is additional cost but I forgot how much already.

Hi all,

Wonder if any of you got the MUA at SG Bridal as your AD/ROM MUA in Singapore?
If yes, please let me know...I am contemplating using SG Bridal's MUA and wonder if their style suits me...

Thanks a lot!

Hi All,

I had just done my PS last Saturday and Sunday.

I am really satisfied with the entire team at SG Bridal :D

Firstly, I like Jenny a lot as she is very accommodating with my last minutes changes on hairdo & accesseries. I even asked her lots of stuff about the makeup she put on me & she was very willing to answer me. I had a problem with one dress as my tummy fat is bulging, but voila, she managed to help me solve my problem.

Next is the Photography team. I am surprised when I found the PG team consist of so many crew members. Even though Kelvin is the only one taking photos, but there are a few others running around helping with props, directing & making fine adjustments. And Kelvin emphasis on so much finer details during shooting.

When we were at Sultan Garden, there were 3 other couples from other BS I guess. But straightaway, my FH & I feel very different compared to other couples. First, my gown was much more grander than theirs (they are all wearing normal white wedding gown). Second, my poses looks so much like magazine modelling, but other couples was just simple posings. Third, my PG team is the one with most crew members & most props! The only bad thing is we took longer to finish compared to other couples, but I like the effect very much ;)

On top of that, the whole team is so funny. They like to joke a lot. Even initially I find Jenny more reserved but as the day goes on, more & more funny comments & jokes come out of her. I enjoyed very much when the PG crew members & she keep 'suaning' each other during my makeup sessions. Even Kelvin & the team have so much jokes during the outdoor travels. My FH & I laugh so much!

Surprisingly, even the Kakak there still remembers my details even though she only helped me once when I was choosing my gowns last time.

Thanks a lot to Kelvin, Kenneth, Jack, Feng & Ken & Jenny (sorry if I got the names spelt wrongly).

Last but not least, thanks a lot to my coordinator, Nicole for helping to make all the PS arrangement, making me feel at home and so accommodating to my frequent changes of thoughts, gowns & dates (paiseh).

Now I really understand why some of you here said that their service is good
happy.gif
But I would say that theirs is superb as it was beyond my expectation & just the 2 days PS shootings, I already feel very comfortable with the entire team!

Hope the rest of you here will also enjoy your PS shootings as much as I do ;)

To all Brides to be who are still sourcing for bridal studios:

Hi all! I took my photoshoot on last weekend. The entire photography session was really good. I had my indoor shooting on sat and outdoor shooting in desaru on sun. First of all, the shooting session was really relaxing. We crack jokes, talk and enjoy the whole shooting session. The assitant, Ah Feng, is really whitty with all his jokes and poses. Kelvin (the photographer) is also very precise with all the poses and will be very patient in directing you into the "moods and feelings" he wanted. The makeup artist, Jenny also did a great job in styling my hair and makeup to suit the gowns. Especially for my outdoor shooting, Jenny choose a nice gown for my outdoor which i really like it alot. I have no complaints to the makeup that she did for me.

Another thumbs-up service of them is their customer-service. As I have to rush for a wedding dinner in JB after my indoor shooting, Ivy (my coordinator) got her dad to drive us to the hotel after several failed attempts of taxi booking. Also, we reached back to JB at ard 9 plus after our outdoor shooting, her dad also drives us back to the customs. We are really surprise as that is really no obligations of them to do these.

Anyway, besides all the above I mention, you will not be feeling any regrets after signing with them. I am sure you will be feeling the same when you took up the package with them. I have to say that their business are really brisk. Of two days I am there, the shops are always filled with pple to come in for enquires, gown fittings and choosing of photographs.
