SG Bridal in JB

Hey gals,

I booked a package with SG Bridal as well. But I forgot to ask regarding those photos that I have selected, will they be given to me in a CD-rom form as well? Is this something that will be automatically given to you or is it something that you have to ask for? I know there will be a montage CD/DVD-rom given, but I would also like to have a CD-rom of those photos alone, for easier uploading into the internet.

kfkbmel:

hi, yes, the jpg in its orig resolution from the cam will be given to you. so long as you picked them out, and pay for those extra beyond the poses you took in the package.

but the designs you'd see in the main album will not be given to you in soft copy.

if you're afraid it'd be left out, just get their acknowledgement. i only picked up my photo CD after the wedding, as we left out in a hurry when we picked up the AD gowns.

Hi HdBanger,

Thanks for the prompt reply. What do you mean by pay for those extra beyond the poses I took in the package? Do you mean that I have to pay for those jpg in its original resolution from the cam? Could you add me to your multiply too? My nick is snowtwins.

Hi Dina, could you add me too? Cos I'm really interested to see your photos as well.

I'm actually kinda worried, cos after seeing all the photo samples in the shop, although I really like their photo taking style, etc, I couldn't see any gowns that catch my eye. People asked me what kind of gowns I have in mind, but I don't really know myself. Actually, I do like Victorian styled gowns, but I dun think SG have these kinds, do they? What about gowns with embroidery? I didn't have a chance to look through their gowns cos when I was there previously, I couldn't take a look at the gowns as there was someone trying on gowns. Guess I can only really look at their choices when I go for my gown trying next month.

Hi kfkbmel, you need to have multiply or your email for me to invite you.

I think SG brides gown are more funky & modern? I don;t think I saw victorian kinda of gowns. Embriodery ones I think they have. Not too worry, Nicole or Ivy will try their best to accomodate to you.

kfkbmel:

when you sign up, it's typically a package. mine was 24 poses in 10 pages. which means you can select 24 pics. but the PG will take hundreds of them. for you to choose. and if you want more than the 24 for the album, you have to pay. either by adding pages (to put the extra pics in), or develop them separately as plain pics (which was what i did).

whichever way, cos you paid for the pics above the original allocation, all chosen will be given to you in soft copy.

as for my multiply account, i didn't lock the pics. about 15 of them i scan from SGBridal's draft pics. so you can just take a look.

as for gowns, go read bridal mags. look at the style you like. take them to SGBridal, show them. see if they have somethin of those kind. then they'd drag out whatever fit close to those style you mention. don't fret about sizing, cos they'd alter it proper.

and, so long as you're patient, you can go ahead and chose what you want at your pace. my wife took about 2-3 hrs, and tried out about 30 gowns (just for the studio shoot). i kinda made her put up with the hassle (and help in the changin instead of lettin jenny do it), so we'd be able to pick stuff which we're happy with.

important is you happy in them gowns. cos it's only once you'd get to wear, and capture in pics.

hope it helps.

Hi Dina, I do have multiply. My nick in multiply is snowtwins. I guess I will have to take a look at the gowns myself before I can decide.

Hi HdBanger, so does that mean that for those pics in the original allocation, I won't get to take those pics back in soft copy? Well, I hope my bf can be as patient as you and let me take my time to choose. ;p

kfkbmel:

well, if he care enough for you to look good on that day, then time will have to be invested.

it was the other way round for my case. after like 45 mins, i think she wanna slam the gowns down and walk off, heh. which was why i accompanied her inside the fittin room, instead of lettin jenny do so. that helped her to calm down and go through the whole process.

well, it happens with couples. one gives, one takes.

anyway, pics... all the pics will be yours in softcopy. even the ones for the album. except, you'd see them in original camera version. not the extra graphics and photo combinations per page seen in albums. they'd probably touch up the pics for you (like they did for my crater face) in the ones you selected as well.

Hdbanger,we went in last sat to see if there's any rom dresses to borrow or not..happened to see a slightly bigger than an A4 size frame of ur wedg photo le..keke..

however rom dresses dun have nice 1 le..so am intending to c.m or juz buy it off rack...

vinnic:

hi, you can take a look at the draft pics @ my multiply site. the album pics are about the same patterns as the ones fr the draft. no access restrictions over there.

adnl:

yeah. we saw it when we returned the gown. did give ivy our blessings to use the pics if they need so. it's prob one of the better ones showin both of us.

as for your ROM gown, maybe get somethin nice, which you can also wear for formal occasions. depends on your requirements.

Hi ladies!

I am intending to take another PS package in JB. Sg Bridal is in my preferred list. Will anyone kindly add me if you have multiply to let me see your PS photos? Many thanks!

My multiply ID is; andrewandjay

ckyip & blessings:

i have some draft pics in my multiply site. no activation needed. just pop in an you can take a look.

the other site is still under 'lock and key' by orders of my Commander, heh.

take a look at the past postings, and you'd find some of the ex-customers sharing their experiences. hope it helps..

Just wanted to share my experience. In the end, I took less than an hour to choose all my gowns. hehe... And they are more or less Victorian style. Now, the whole studio knows that I like Victorian styled gowns and they even chose something Victorian for my outdoor shoot.

Unfortunately, I decided too late to get Jenny as my MUA for my AD, she's already booked for the evening. Sob... I have to agree that she does a good job. Any other suggestions for MUA? I'm fine with other bridal studios as well, as long as I can get a good one. I actually found one, but she doens't give me any vote of confidence during the trial, so I'd rather not take the risk. Right now, this is the biggest thing worrying me. Haiz...

Hello..i jus signed with SG Bridal yesterday...anyone can share ur experiece with me? Who PG is Kenneth or Kelvin ? I want to choose my PG so want to know their difference....haha since i think the same...

tingting:

ask your coord for sample albums taken by both PG, see which style you like. book the guy you want early.

do a search on past threads to see what the rest comment about their styles.

also, think about what style you have in mind. and let the PG know on the morning of photoshoot. my PG is kevin.

suzi:

check out their website: http://www.sgbridalhouse.com

all info in there.

juz to check with those who have collected ur albums, is the SG Bridal logo found anywhere on it?

rosel,

checked my big album. not logo. small album with my MIL, can't verify.

the logo is shown at beginning of montage video though.

hope it helps.

i have sign up wif sg bridal last weekend and still considering abt Ian service. i saw his works i love it..especially his express highlights..so funny..bt due to time constraits i mite be able to hv express highlights so nw i still considering hw am i gg to go about dng it.

juz to check wif those who have done their album with sg bridal, do all of your opt for the sliver print kinda of album? anyone go for the normal kind? thanks

Hi Dina,

Check with you. For all those pictures that you have put up at your multiply site, they are all already designed photos as in those images are those that are in your album, right? How did you manage to get them? Cos I just found out from SG that the photos in the CD-rom that they are giving to us are the original photos that we have chosen to put into our album, not images that are already with designs like those that will appear in the actual album. I was rather disappointed to hear that as there are a few that I really like.

Oh.. These are the draft copies that they emailed us to approve so its not those high quality one. But on multiply still ok.

I don't think it can be develop into photos. The ones they give us in CD-rom are the high quality ones but without effects, same as yours.. No choice leh...

Yeah, at first they wanted to email us too, then we realise oh, we need to go down to pass them some photos for the DVD montage. So, we didn't get them mailed to us. After I came back, I regretted it, should have asked them to email to us, at least I would have a soft copy of the photos with the special effects. I didn't realise that those in the CD-rom are not with the special effects until after they told us on the spot. sigh...

Oh, just remembered one more thing. Do any of you know if SG has tea dresses as well? Has any bride here gotten a tea dress from SG for their actual day?

kfkbmel

their tea dresses are just those traditional 'kuas'..
if i'm not wrong, they only have 2 kuas in e whole bridal shop.

Hi my dress that I gotten from them was a simple long flowy white gown less frills that the morning one & I use that as my tea dress...

kfkbmel,

my experience: they are not so keen to rent out their kuas. probably worried it'd come back damaged.

lucky my missus is not fussy about havin the kua. she bought herself a cheongsam instead.

Oh, I'm not particular about having kuas for my tea ceremony. I already have a simple long flowy white gown with less frills in mind, like Dina, just that I thought I would be having too many white gowns and thought of having some variety. I guess I may just go with it then. It's alright to wear 3 different white gowns on the same day, right?

kfkbmel:

you're the star of the day, you decide how many costume changes you want. so long as time permits.

if you start your dinner early enough and things are moving at a smooth pace, you still can sneak away after the yam seng/beore the table photos for a last gown change even. but you probably have only 5-10 mins to get it all done. plan it as a bonus, may not be executable.

choc:

have placed a few of the draft pics on my multiply site. you can see those there...

hdbanger.multiply.com

hope it helps. you can also see tons of their albums in their studio. just ask for those actual couples instead of posing models.

choc:

if you don't mind, you check back the old posts in this thread. i wrote A LOT of my stuff in there. i signed with them sometime in mid-december '06. so fr there onwards til my weddin in july '07, you can see the details.

thanks for understanding.

carrine:

maybe you can drop in if possible. and see their packages available currently. after a while, they may change the details, so what you see in old posts may not be applicable anymore.

they don't push people to take up (which is why i didn't sign up with any sg studios). i popped in, viewed it, then signed up with them a week later.

Hi Merlion, I don't have my package details already, I think they are quite ok, just see what is more important to you & hubby & negotiate from there... All the best!

Nicole called me the other day & told me she is preggy already?? Wow!

merlion:

check back my posting sometime from mid-dec 06 onwards. i think i wrote the key things in there.

plus, with about a year gone, things could have changed already. prices, features etc.

dina:
would've wanna pop by and say hi to them, but JB's a little dangerous for me to go in, and my hectic schedules don't give me a breather..
