Refer to the below website for gyrotonic
http://www.gyrotonic.com/about.htm

Gyrotonic is a great straightener for spinal problems, and reinforces your
core and pelvic floor. Feet get also strengthened by way of the leg exercises.

gyrotonic is successfully used in rehabilitation. You could still practice gyrotonic to strengthen your back.

Chiropractic treatments does wonders for spine problems. My spondylosis problem hs greatly improved n my heart arrythmia problem solved. Has tried several other treatments but none worked like chiropractic.

Wif my referral, it will cost $50 for 1st consultn. There is a package deal which leads to abt $50/treatment n u can pay by instalment. No need for medicine or surgery. No pain too.

Those who wish to know more can email me at [email protected] n i will gladly share my personal experience.

Hihi, what's the diff between osteopathic and chiropractic? I've been to the Tanglin one that XiaoAi mentioned before but that was 7 years ago and while my degree was around 40 degrees it didn't get to almost balance even with concurrent acupuncture treatments.

And because it was so expensive, I stopped going after 3 months. Now my back's distortion is still very much obvious and I've been thinking to go back to it (just the osteopathic though, the acupuncture was painful cause they poke the needles into ur spine and twist it around =X).

So was wondering what's the diff between chiro and osteo? TIA~ =)

I ve scoliosis and was found out at 1984 when I was 13yo. If not I had engaged in a fight, it would be discovered much later. Very dramatic huh?

I have a harrington rod in me fr e collar bone till the end of the spine. Therefore ve to give up my fav track & field. Cannot personally received my 2 medals! Ughh......

Depression sets in as I was not able to live the life I planned earlier. Not to count in the mockeries, ridicules & hurtful statements that I received from strangers & non strabgers. Well educated and non educated.

Retributions maybe! Must chant more buddha.

I had 3 children, 1 natural birth with suction & 2 c-sections. Wanted to deliver all 3 naturally but cannot, boh bian! I almost lost my 2nd baby during birth. Felt like a failure! He was really small, oni 2.1kg. Now a thin white 4yo boy.

Anyone had rod installed(don't know the correct term)in their back? Curious to know.

Hi.
Juz found out tt there's this thread.
Im 17 this yr...
erm. juz wana share my experience and my condition.
I've been diagnose with this condition since i was 7 yrs old.
It was not tt serious at 1st....
so i did'nt care much bout it...however it seems to progress since im in sec one...the dr told me tt when it reach 40 degrees i will nid surgery.
then the worse thing came when i was in sec 3...the curve was 45 degrees...as a result...the dr wanted me to go for surgery...juz b4 the surgery the curve progress further to 55 in juz a few mths...i guess its becus of the sudden growth in height...

early this mth..i went for follow-up and my dr said tt there is improvement in my condition...i was shock but he says this is expected cus im still at growing age...so after all surgery is not a bad choice for me...if i did not went for surgery...my case will worsen badly...

i saw ppl asking is ther anything other surgery to correct this condition...
well i haf a fren same age as me...
she is also quite severe but lucky no nid surgery cus her height has stop increasing so her condition is kindda stabilise...
she told me tt she did yoga and realise tt she had improve slightly from 32 to 28 degrees...
i dont noe whether yoga really helps...but no harm trying...juz a piece of info from my fren...

whoa..my story seems long huh...ok la..tink tt enough le..

Hi, I just stumbled in this forum and glad to hear experiences who underwent corrective surgery. Can anyone help to confirm whether the surgery is covered by insurance?

Beware, they charge $45 if you miss the appointment, even if you have a genuine last min commitment and called up to inform them.

Anyone tried Dr Kevin Lau... he has a clinic in Orchard Road.
Yes we have been bringing our daughter there since getting screened by HPB. The doctors at HPB said there was nothing to do as her scoliosis was mild. We go once a week and the curve has been improving from the last check.

We were impressed by the before and after results from past patients and even got to speak to some parents before deciding to start.

I would like to give my honest reviw since 5 years ago... of scoliolife as our family had been going through scoliosis for our young girl for over 5 years now. We initially went through HPB and kk hosiptal and did the recommended brace when she was first diagnoised at age 10. We did the schroth exercises the hospital recommended and got a boston brace. Every 6 months we would go in for review with KK specialist and her curve kept getting worst even though we were wearing the boston brace for 20 hours every day. It was hard as she had to even go to school and suffered bullies too. The curve got so bad that eventually it hit 48 degrees and the specialist told us we had to do surgery. This is when i went online and found scoliolife clinic. I was skeptical at first and who wouldnt be after what we had gone through. We did a new brace with them which they said can correct curves unlike the old brace we had and did a 6 month program where we went in once a week for one hour. There she did a mixture of physio, schorth, stretching equipment and some therapy with the chiro. They even went through nutrition and guided us on what to eat. I think this is the most comprehensive program foro scoliosis. During the 6 months we met other parents in the same position trying to avoid surgery. I am happy to report our daughter curve now is under 35 degrees. Do i think scoliolife is for everyone no. As it takes a lot of work and committemnt to get the results. Also the therapist there explained how much work is required to achive such good results from dilligently wearing the brace a dn doing the exercises in the clinic and ar home. BUt im so happy we did. Sorry for such a long post but I remember being in the same position as many parents told they had to do spinal surgery for their child and the number of sleepless nights we had worrying. It was gods blessing we found scoliolife.
