Same blood group

Hi All,

Jus curious here: Heard from old wives' tales that spouses having same blood group will have difficulty in conceiving, how true is it?

I am aware of blood related cousins or perhaps same surname one, may have problems with their own children.. Is it true?

Not true. Likewise for people with the same surname. There is no physiological basis for these. Besides, there are only 4 blood groups for humans.

The children of blood related cousins may have an increased likelihood of congenital disease, simply because the odds of both spouses inheriting the same gene causing it is greater. Take for example the royal houses of Europe. There was a high incidence of congenital illnesses because they intermarried with cousins (of varying degrees), thus the genetic pool was smaller and the possibility for gene mutations being carried to future generations was greater.
 
unless yours is some rare surname.. .. it doesn't really matter.. surname, blood group, etc etc etc.

it is how closely related in terms of blood relationship.. (ie genetical makeup)

If u so kiasi.. go marry someone of a different race - mostly they will turn out more beautiful and good looking.. this is a FACT due to the dominant genes

my parent are having same surname and same dialect. And i have a sister and a brother. So proven there's nothing wrong with marrying same surname, same dialect or same blood group.

trying to be a nice person by forum-standards. and tat means being nice at the expense of Reason; being quiet at the expense of foolhardiness. basically just let the ignorance continue playing a big part of pple's lives...

i'm going into another forum to advise now, - "oh i had sex without condom during the 4days after menstruation and the girl didn't get pregnant. so it's proven to work"

becos it works for me, it HAS TO BE the universal rule. but of cos, the topic was abt safeguard against aids using condoms. dun DUH me, i'll be nice...
 
Suggest, shower after menses or do skipping ropes also will prevent pregnancy. Old wives tales machiam Ostrich theories.

Btw interesting to know. As other traditions and law forbids the marriage between cousins due to genetic complications that could occur in offsprings, I think I came across that indians are allowed to do that leh. They just need to seek approval from some ministry or religious institute they belong to and submit it upon registering. Correct me if I am wrong but I vividly remember coming across that.
