ROM before lunch or during lunch better?

I was wondering which way is better:

1. Gatecrash, tea ceremony of immediate family at home, hotel solemnisation, tea ceremony of relatives then lunch recep & banquet

or

2. Gatecrash, tea ceremony of immediate family at home, hotel tea ceremony for relatives (get them to come earlier), lunch cocktail recep, solemnisation before lunch banquet starts and all seated?
(advantage is less rush in morning maybe and less likely of latecomers and can skip childhood montage! aka less work:p)

option 2 will delay ur lunch (how much time required depends on how elaborated ur solemnisation), so maybe your cocktail recept needs to cater more substantial food (like canapes maybe?)

have to check whether the hotel allows u to have venue until what time. my contract stated ballroom usage until 3:30pm. if exceed, they will charge $2k/hour :/

i personally prefer to do solemnisation with just a small group of family. will get stage fright if i have to do it in front of the entire ballroom haha.

I think I will stick with option 1. Got to get myself a super fierce time keeper to keep everyone on track..haaa.

@tulipkiss My cocktail starts at 12nn, lunch supposed to be at abt 1pm and ends at 4pm. additional hr is $500++. Urs 2k/hr very exp! :O

i think i will do ROM solemnisation before banquet :) as i think i will only invite close frens (like bros/sis) and immediate family members, going to do it chop chop :P

gotta start ur day earlier too!

which hotel are u holding it at? actually i wonder if hotels really charge the couple for slight overruns..

Crossing my fingers that my mua no need so much time so i can sleep in longer...lol. I am grumpy in the morning. haaaaaaa

i am holding it at furama city centre. How abt u? Not sure how strict they r abt over run. But i attended dinner banquets that i think ended quite late for last course that half of its staff left once they served it when the guests are all still ard..lol. I guess the mgmt wanna cut down on OT and trpt claim..lol.

better confirm with ur MUA beforehand! but i believe u'll feel more excited/nervous than grumpy laaa :)

i shld be holding it at st regis.. haven't seen much review on it so not sure how strict.. :/ but as long as they serve the food on time, guests usually will start making their way out after last course or even skip the dessert de i notice..

i would think option 1 is better. i did mine like this:

1) gatecrash
2) tea ceremony at groom's house
3) tea ceremony at bride's house
4) tea ceremony at hotel for those relatives who cmi in the morning at both houses.
5) rom
6) lunch recep & banquet

mine overran like mad. ended quite late ard 430pm :)

mine is lunch.. so i don't think the people gg to skip dessert. haaa.. they might linger longer.. oh no..

usually dinner ppl will skip dessert to catch the last train home you see..esp if it's already quite late.

i think my 3 & 2 will swop. cos no time go back bride hse. After groom hse will be straight to hotel.

I'm doing it this way.

1. gatecrash
2. tea ceremony at venue (country club reception area)
3. guests seated (11am) at country club restaurant
3a. solemnization
3b. lunch banquet.

no break in between solemnization and banquet..it'd flow as one. so 2 walk ins..1 with father, 1 with husband. no change of attire.

mine will probably be like
1) gate crash (730am)
2) tea ceremony at bride's house (830am)
3) tea ceremony at groom's house (930am)
4) rom solemnisation (1130am)
5) lunch reception (12pm)
6) banquet (1 pm)

trying to be optimistic haha!

just a headsup for everyone. if you are engaging MUA for your mother, MIL, siblings, please cater sufficient time in between your arrival at the hotel till the next event (most prob solemnization). I have asked ard for many MUAs and most of them require 45-1hr for 1 pax makeup and hair. so just make sure u cater sufficient time for that :) cheers!

@kemise i might start abit earlier. lol. means mus wake up earlier to make up. yawns. ur htb hse far frm urs? i doing tea ceremony at hotel directly to save time

Hi, end up we will be doing our solemnisation by the end of this year so that I can take marriage leave to do overseas photoshoot next year :)

I think my revised timeline will probably be
8am - gate crash
830am - tea ceremony at bride's place
9am- reach groom place
915 am- tea ceremony at groom's place
10am- leave to go hotel

-chill- allow time for sisters and brothers to change, rest, maybe some simple photoshoot around

1130am - set up registration booth
12pm - reception starts
1pm - banquet starts

oh we stay about 2km away from one another so it's pretty convenient :)
