Weekly Food Feature: Satay
Satay, also known as Sate in Indonesian and Malay spelling, is a very popular dish in Singapore. Marinated in turmeric which gives a distinctive yellow colour, the cubed meat are skewered in kebab style, then grilled or barbequed and eaten with peanut sauce.
Lightly charred, it will have a beautifully smoky taste and goes well with cucumber, onion and Ketupat (steamed rice) wrapped in woven leaf packets.
