Hi all,

Am planning to buy an proposal diamond ring. Any good recommendations on which shop to go to? Tiffany & Co? Lee Hwa? Love & Co? or ???

Hi Nan,

like that Fat ger said, what is your budget?

It really depends on your budget and what you are looking for.

Are you looking more for size, colour or clarity? or the brand?

Most times, maybe you can go for the size & colour. For the clarity, you do not need VVS1/2. Even VS 1 & 2 will do just fine.

Shops like Lee Hwa etc have their own inhouse designs (not sure whether am i putting it the across properly) like Desti*** or someother name (cant remember now).

Whereas Tiffany has their own inhouse certification for their diamonds, and they do not use GIA cert (like most of the other jewellery shops).

hope i explain myself clearly.

wat is your budget?? I just went with my fiance to 14 shops to look at my ring...

Lee hwa: destinee (57 cut)
Goldheart: celestial (76 cut- starburst)
citigems: rosella (80+ cut rose design)
soo kee: brillant rose (80+ cut rose design)
Sk: True love (normal cut)
Taka: none

I got mine at goldheart not the premium range but then next range to it. Quite satisfy with the price too. In my opnion unless u really like the cut (anyway will not take the scope n look into in every now n then) then go for the premium if not then the normal. I have premium range too, there is no difference, dun see the differences.

Normally for the prenium range they will allow to upgrade every 2 year for lifetime (for lee hwa n gold heart)if u miss it then cant upgrade anymore but the 2nd range type can upgrade 1 or 2 years but only once.

Also, there are those that are big n cheap but make up of many small diamonds to 1 big one. e.g. nouvelle are not worth the buy, value is not there at all.

Colour is very impt. if the cut is good, the clarity does not matter.

Only those above 0.3carat then will be certified.

If u have membership, can get more discounts.

Hope it helps
