hi emmeline,

i assumed that you are looking for "unprinted paper" . u can get them at art friend at bras basah, they have many type of papers as cheap as $0.05 or as expensive as $3 depends on your choice

hi all

i've went to tdragons too...and you know what, those cute icons printed on the cards are chargable at $10 single charge..which i think shld be waived...they told me need 2 weeks for the printing...well, will think twice...

hi all

i've collected my printed cards fr tdragon..my comments are, dun try this shop if you can...they are not very detailed ppl and the best part is, they hv forgotten to give me the envelopes! i only realised it when i reach home!as for the price wise, i've managed to negotiate it to $90 with free icons on the insert printing

Hi all

I do agree with co co too. Initially, I thought of collecting 350 cards from tdragons to get my printer to print (friend's dad is a printer), however, the customer service staff at tdragons provided negative quality of service. My hotel mentioned that I can choose cards from tdragons' designated selections. They changed their attitude when I mentioned that I will be collecting the cards from them and get my own printer to print. My goodness!!!!

Now that I was given such service, I will never even want to recommend tdragon to my other friends.

i would like to recommend rolling art. You may reach libby at 63634467 for design of inserts. Their design is special and nice.

cheers.

hi gals,

Fyi, i've gotten married already & my wedding was on 29 May. My hubby & I did our own inserts. We bot some nice patterned lilac paper frm Malaysia (it was really cheap, if i rem correctly, its RM$5 for every 100gm) & we printed it ourselves. It turned out quite nice.

Anyway, as for printing of invite cards itself, I strongly recommend Kentrich Trade Press. They're really nice and professional. I had a deadline to meet, & i gave them less than a week to print the cards out, & they still managed to get it out, without ANY mistake & on gloss finish somemore. My card was in black and white & only costed me $0.70 each. I printed 300 copies, which only came up to $210. In addition, the guy even gave me many extra samples as mementos. Most importantly, the card turned out beautifully !

Thumbs Up for Kentrich !

hi poox & oraia,

hi,

what is hot stamp?

so compare to 3 kinds of printing:

1) Print directly on card

2) Inserts

3) Hot stamp

which one of the above is common n better?

also wat is the market rate for printing 1 card? and what does it includes? 40 cents to 50 cents per card? thanks.

hi kite, to answer ur questions...

1) & 2) for printing directly on cards or inserts will depend on the type and design of cards you have and according to your own preference. for eg, if the type of paper u're using has design/pattern on it, then it may not be advisable to print directly on to the card cos it may distort or make reading the card difficult. of cos printing on cards directly will save u some money cos the paper inserts itself will cost u some money.

btw, inserts mean that instead of printing directly on the card itself.. you print on another pc of paper (usually a translucent pc and then u attach it to your card by tying a string).

3) hot stamp refers to the type of printing you want. there's the normal printing; something that u print out directly from your printer. for hot stamping, the words would be more shiny and there'll be a slight indent so the words look more classy.

there's another type of printing now.. just got to know of it when i went to print my cards last weekend.. it's called matte gold hot stamping.. instead of shiny words, u'll get the hot stamping in a matte gold effect.

there's a limit to wat can be explained here.. it's better to find a reliable printer who can explain and show to you wat are all these printing and advise you wat is the best way to print ur card.

usually there's a overhead cost of setting the mould for ur printing... for eg, they'll quote u something like $100 for the first 100 pcs printing which include the cost of the mould. subsequent pcs would be at 30-50 cents per pc depending on the type of printing you wanna do.

hope the above helps.. and not confuse u further... hehe

Hi Soupie,

wow thanks for ur clear explaination. However i hv another qs. The mould eg. $100 is also applicable for inserts? thanks

hi soupie,

oic. so charges will based on printing on inserts n paper? what is the average price? cos this month i will be going to select my card's design. thanks

hi, wonder if anyone can advise if i can print black/white photograph on the translucent inserts? thanks!

kite, insert paper would cost abt 10-20 cents per pc.. u would save this cost if u're printing directly on the cards instead..

keiki, u can do that.. i saw a sample done that way.. but i dun think it's going to be cheap.. the one i saw has the black and white photo as the background with the invite words on the photo itself..

hi soupie, thanks for the info! i'll go check it out when it's nearer the date then. any printers to recommend where you have seen photo printed on inserts?

hi all,

I'm now looking for printing services as well. Any recommendation that it cost about $100 plus for about 200 hundred cards.

Hi Jas,

i will be using Jasvy, which tied up with my hotel. 210 cards costs $102. subsequently, costs 20cents each.

hi kite,

Oh thanks it cheap. I'm sorry as I just look into the printing of wedding card. I

s it means that printing in Bras Basah is much more expensive?

kite, which is ur hotel. my hotel is also tied up with them but coz i am choosing the dark red cards, we need inserts. are your prices for inserts or direct printing on cards?

Seems like there's good reviews for hi-tech!

I'm going to get inserts printed for my invites...about 400 pcs.

Is it advisable to call up? Or just go directly?
