Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone is interested or have enrolled in pre-marriage counseling sessions? I was looking for non religious ones but options are many. Can anyone recommend any places? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Are you looking at individual or group sessions? I am looking for one too, but there's too many options to look for, would prefer individual sessions. Hope to get some good deal.

im a buddist however 6 months ago i have enrolled mpc course by catholic. they are interesting and all subjects are done by the experts.

You can contact Care Corner or Cornerstone. I'm currently doing a complimentary 2 x 6 hours workshop with Care corner:)

I'm Actually considering group sessions so less awkward! Imagine if its one to one and the trainer ask questions must look into his eyes and answer lol. I saw roughly 400+ and thought it's too expensive!

let me know if you need the email address of these 2 places :) i just ended my session with care corner today :)
Thank you! It's okay I can google for them heh. How do u find the course btw? Is it too boring? Fiancé can't sit still, I think I need to find a less boring one or pin him down :x

personally i found it quite useful because they also had personality test + loving style test, talked about different conflict management techniques and why does conflict arises.
in addition, they also gave us some questions to think about (as homework) to discuss as a couple.

It is quite intensive since it's 930am - 530pm for 2 saturdays. My husband felt quite tired after the course, but he feels that he will only see the application and use of this course if we really get into some argument (haha!). Both of us have been together for 9 years plus (coming to 10) so i guess we kinda understand each other quite a bit already. It''s probably more useful for me as i am the one who gets uptight and irritated more easily :P

The course instructor was quite engaging and we had quite a bit of scenarios being played out, questions to think about, and he cracked quite a bit of jokes too :)

Are they for non-christian? I wonder if it is ok for a couple to go after few month of dating... I have issues with my gf, she always get irritated and keep making a mountain out of a mole hole.

erm, this course is targetted for couples who wants to get married. Maybe should use this time to know your gf a bit more since you all have just started dating?
The course we went was not tie up with any religion, so it was objective and the strategies covered were based on research done in the US :)

Hi hi! It's my first posting here. May I know what's the charges like and is there any subsidy?

I'm very keen to look into this as my bf and I have some communications issues. A bit at my wits' end liao. He's sweet and all but sometimes very insensitive with his remarks. We are looking to get married in the next one year or so but recently just had a bad quarrel again (mostly my unhappiness about his passive actions despite saying he's ready to be married)

Hope we can resolve this with some neutral third party and manage our future communications better!

For marriage preparation course, there is $70 subsidy by MSF (can google on ROM website and they would show you a list of vendors) upon completion of the course. However, there is a diference between marriage counselling and marriage preparatory course. Do read up on the content that the marriage prep course is providing, before you sign up with the agency.

Thank you so much!! You've been very helpful. I'm going to make him sit down and slap him if he falls asleep :x

We went to focus on family.

2 Saturdays 130 to 530. Not religious though the facilitor was Christian.

The course had one non engaged couple, rest engaged or married but I think they didn't turn up 2nd session.

I think such courses theoretically open for all but in practice if you not engaged or married one side tends to be less commited to attend.
