Photography in Norway

Planning to go for pre-wedding photoshoots in Norway next year to catch the Aurora. Has anyone done that before? What is the pricing like?

That's quite risky because whether you see the aurora on a particular night depends on too many factors. Unless the photographer is your friend, or you engage him for a few consecutive nights, you may not get your desired results. But of course if the elements work in your favour, you'll get a magical backdrop for your photos.

The weather elements are my greatest concerns as well. The first time I was there I waited for about 2 hours and we considered ourselves lucky. It's so... unbelievable.

Mich, please send your package to my email? Thanks.

Since you've been there i guess you know how much luck it really depends on. The first day i was there, auroral activity was maximum on the scale that even ppl in northern Scotland and Denmark could see the lights, but it was overcast and snowing over the whole Arctic circle.

If you want to go you will have to be prepared for no luck. Or if you are also happy with other Norwegian sights like the fjords, or if you're going to Tromso, its unique landscape and snow mountains and the unique looking church.

I agree Tromso is beautiful and I do consider using it as a backdrop as well :-) Norway is simply charming. Skjerejehamn is also a place we will be considering.
