Not looking forward to wedding

I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life with my man, but I'm not looking forward to the wedding at all.

If you ask me what's my ideal wedding, it would be just going to ROM and signing the papers, but obviously that is not happening. HTB and family would still like a traditional full day banquet with many people etc (can't negotiate that).

Well, but then again I'm an introvert and I've never liked events with too many people :/

Has anyone felt like that day before? I'm kinda worried I would actually just be plastering a smile on that day but not enjoying my own wedding deep inside. Lol :(

Hey, I feel the same. For my case, my HTB isn't quite an extrovert too. We both don't like big events, "re nao" and being the center of attention. We feel we will do good without a wedding and we had the exact same thoughts as you - just go ROM and sign papers!

But perhaps just going ROM to sign papers is too unacceptable and hard to take for parents. How about give and take - try negotiating for a smaller wedding? We managed to convince our parents to have solemnisation, quick tea ceremony and a small 10 table banquet all in the hotel. It should be done by 3pm.. wouldn't be too tiring or suffocating for you.

Me too! wanted to do a solemnisation with just immediate family members but both sides were not pleased even though they said they would "respect our decision". We think it's a waste of money inviting people we barely know and most probably forget that they've been to our banquet. We would rather spend the money on our reno & furniture.

Not going to have gatecrash, pre-wedding photography, mum refused to let us use her car so htb will meet us straight at the hotel lobby. Was told to tell the florist they need not provide us flowers for the bridal car. Sian.

Not looking forward to the wedding at all... 14 tables. no emcee (nv bother asking friends), no videography, only plan to have AD photographer.. Chose the cheapest lunch package even though I didn't like the place as I just wanted to get it over & done with

Cheer up girls! Wedding is more for other people than yourselves... at the end of the day, it is the life you embark w your HTB that matters the most.
