When is your wedding???

Hi GG, I don't have gatecrash too, but HTB will go to my home, have tea ceremony, then go to church.

Also banquet dinner in hotel, and we also do some tea ceremony during cocktail period for those relatives that can't come earlier.

What time is your church wedding? If your elders dun mind, actually any time in the day also can.

maoushroom somewhere in oct nxt yr
ellen.. 2pm or 3pm mass. where will ur tea ceremony be held for husband side ?
i have a few plans
1) no gate crash meet in church . but i have tea ceremony venue problems. how to do two families tea ceremony
2) htb go my house, tea ceremony at my place but wearing KUA. then go church change to gown. (i love the surprise gown element) then tea ceremony for hubby side either at his(our house) or hotel before dinner

GG> I also no gate crush, then church, then do tea ceremony lohz. Think like I post in the previous thread, you can consider at your respective houses.....

But you have dinner also..so better do it at hotel if everybody dun mind. SAve the trouble of having to run all over the place...

Dear all

If no gate crash and we do it in the church. Will there any room for us to change?

I am planning to get marry at st.teresa.

Please advice. Thanks

Engratia> I"m not sure too. Are you a member of St.Teresa? You might want to check with the church if there will be additional cost if you borrow the room.

maoushroom my service quite late,if do tea ceremony after mass no time..
how to do tea cermeony in hotel? call them come earlier? then must do 2 sides together?

Hi GG, my service is at 3pm. Most of the tea ceremony should be done in the morning except for those who can't make it, we will do in hotel before dinner.

Almost all my church's weddings start at 3pm... they normally have this schedule:

~10:00am: bride side tea ceremony at bride's home
~11:00am: go to couple's new house or groom's home for groom side tea ceremony.
~12:30nn: lunch time
~1:30pm: head to church
2:30~3:00pm: church service
~5:30pm: go to hotel

hope this can be good reference for you

GG> You have to speak to your coordinator lehz. Check with them if they could give you complimentary function room, or room, for tea ceremonyy. Get everybody to go their and have tea ceremony. Rest then proceed for banquet.

If no complimentary room, then might have to fork out some money to pay liao.

Alternatively, you could consider Ellen's idea but than dun noe if you like it coz you initially suggested that you would be meeting the groom at church. If you do tea ceremony prior to the service, it would defeat the purpose of meeting the groom first at the church aisle.

GG> Where will your banquet be held???

ellen.. where will ur lunch be held? isit for both sides? thought usually its tea after church ceremony

maoushroom : tts my headache! i was thinking of wearing kua for tea ceremony then can MUA to come again and wear the veil touch up for me.. if have tea cermony in hotel i'm not sure if they are willing to come earlier before banquet for tea.. btw if ur tea ceremony at hotel, then u r not going to couple's ne whouse or groom's home at all on that day?

oh gg... the lunch is at couple's new home or groom's home, just a simple lunch for all those around (helpers, couple, groom's family). We still have tea reception after church ceremony.

for my church friends so far, they all do their make-up in kua, the MUA will teach the bride and the jiemeis how to put the veil on later. Then after all the tea ceremony, the bride will change to WG during lunch time with jiemeis' help. No need to touch up the make-up again one...

GG> There is a program flow that people like to follow. Unlike your relatives, or yoursleves feel that the program will determine how blissful your marriage might be, then you might want to think through how certain planning might affect...otherwise, I think it is okie to plan what is convenient to all or what would ensure a smooth operation of the wedding.

You might want to discuss with the MUA what arrangement could be done. Perhaps with some money? Alternatively, you could consider Ellen's idea, learn how to put the veil, etc....

Ideally, I hope to have tea ceremony at the hotel so that me any my partner could rest after that. My parents are okie but my partner have not discussed with their side..If they are not okie, then have to go to houses lohz (which I think is very mahfan)......I even thought of having it at the church, save time. Everyone dun have to travel to different parts, but have to check with the church.

GG> You migth want to discuss with the elderly if they are comfortable with you and your hubby not going to the houses...

ellen.. ur program sounds good..
u planning to wear kua or cheongsum for tea ceremony?
dont know if will look hot and sticky and disgusting when walking down the aisle coz of earlier tea ceremony!

GG> You can bring mini fan or ensure that there is air con/wind constantly blowing at you..You are not getting wed during summer month, so should be okie ba.

maoushroom
agreed......... go to houses so troublesome!!
somemore no meaning to rush place to place and cannot spend time with pple who come to ur wedding. my fren rushed off after church to groom and her house for tea. pple who came to her church dint even get to talk to her!

maoushroom..since u intend to have tea ceremony not at respective houses. is it ok? is it a tradition to step into your love nest/grooms house on ad? like for more blessings etc

GG> I dun noe about all these tradition lehz. Fortunately, my parents and my partner's parents are not very into all these too.

But you might want to consider what is really important to you, like would not abiding by these tradition affect your live?? And also would the elderly be okie.

GG> I assume you are Catholic/Christian coz of your wedding at church? If you fear no blessing coz never go to groom's house or love nest, then you might want to consider getting your Father/Pastor to bless the house first?? Then there should be enough blessing??

maoushroom..haha my dad hates all these traditions and superstitions! not sure abt in laws though........
i am happier if dont go groom house coz our love nest not ready also.. so dont intend to renovate groom house and be under public scrutiny

i've got a friend who did their tea ceremony in church too. no problem one.... check with your church if they can lend you a room or something.

for most of my church friends, not really due to traditions or wad... more like becos they're free in the morning (since service only starts at 3pm) so they do the tea ceremony in morning lor

cos after our church service and reception, it will be very rush for the dinner banquet even without tea ceremony. Sometimes, travelling to groom's place is due to elderly's preference.

for my case, i m going to wear my wedding gown for tea ceremony. Not going to wear kua....

also, with air con, no worries about hot and sticky from the morning activities

Gals> I just received confirmation from my partner's side, have to go the groom's house to serve tea....*dots*. Coz apparently it is the norm. Oh well..have to please the elderly too

if ur really short of time then u got to convince ur MIL..
for partner's side u serving tea to immediate relatives (mil and fil siblings) or also to Mil and fil cousins grand aunt etc

Had a very simple Church wedding. Wanted to head straight to Church initially but was requested to go Groom's house for tea ceremony.

So what happened on my wedding day

7am - Groom arrived.
8am - Tea Ceremony @ bride's house
9am - Back at Groom's place for tea ceremony
10am - leaves for Church
11am - Service starts
12.30pm - Lunch
1.30pm - Tea Ceremony for whoever missed out in the morning session
2pm - Everything was done and over.

I wore my white gown throughout. Only placed the veil down when about to march in. Got a room in Church as waiting place, also for tea ceremony.

Our new place also not ready. Still in the renovation process. Now staying in his room which we didn't decorate at all. We only took photos of the tea ceremony and thereafter, everyone just took a break till it was time to move off to church.

Tulips> Thanks for the program layout!!!!

GG> Don't think can convince her lehz..the parents seem adamant. Oh well...think this one cannot be changed. Maybe can tell her go to church to have tea ceremony.

hi!! my FMIL also wants mi to go to church on my own with my HTB waiting there for mi. he cant even choose my AD gown with mi, he can only see it when i go to church =(

anyway, my HTB wants to experience gate crash, so our programme will be as such:-

1) HTB comes for gate crash in wedding car (i will be wearing another simple gown) and pay respect to ancestors

2) HTB leaves for church with the bother gang

3) i will change into my AD gown and go to church in wedding car with my parents (i am doing morning mass)

4) church wedding followed by reception

5) proceeds to HTB's house for tea ceremony

6) change into my tea dress and go back to my place for tea ceremony

7) proceed to hotel to rest

8) wedding reception at night

rachel so for your pre-wedding shoot you do it all in another gown? thought of the same program as yours but can't resolve the problem for pre wedding shoot. thought its a waste if don't take photo of the AD gown which i love alot :<

maoushroom > intitally thinking of keeping the AD gown as a surprise for my HTB
happy.gif
but we are goign to melbourne for photoshoot so thinking if i don't take it in my AD gown abit wasted. so just asking rachel how she did hers.

maoushroom> my BS is silhouette .. they don't have pws gown to loan unless i rent another one from them. i did buy another WG from jv bridal though.
happy.gif

Dyeann> I see..if that is the case, then I guess you have to bring your gown for the shot lehz....hard to give your hubby a surprise???

hmmm. i will do my pre-wedding shoot without my gown. no choice. actually my FMIL dun wan us to take any pre-wedding shoot, cos no wedding gown, like defeats the purpose also. but we wanna have something to show our friends and relatives during the dinner. so will go ahead with the pre-shoot but without my AD gown. but i have told my HTB that maybe will get photographer to capture a nice shot in church for memory.

actaully can do a casual shoot ie wear casual clothes for pre..
interesting MIL u have rachel..to insist u go to church ur own although groom is already at ur place

hahaha ya lo. she insist to follow the western culture that my husband can only see mi in my gown when i walk down the aisle.
