the 4th level is better than 3rd ballroom? have you take a look all ballroom before you made decision?

Netta: thanks for your sharing too, me also contacted by Ethereal ..haha..just curious which hotel banquet you go with in the end, actually beside MBS , I have shortlisted four season, regent and raffles

Yup they will provide a function room for us to change and make up. They will provide the dressing table, mirror etc. And Ethereal told me that they will arrange a function room that is near to our ballroom if it's available.

Basically the ballrooms look all the same at L3 and L4, except that the 3rd level ballroom's carpet is beige while L4 is red. But the distinct difference is that if you take L4, your guests are able to oversee a nicer view at the cocktail reception area - able to see the CBD, Fullerton hotel view. Whereas at L3, you oversee the Shoppes. Gotta go there before you really know what I'm saying!

Hey Guys! We are so busy preparing for our wedding in Nov this year. Anyway, ever since we sorted out with Jeremy our replacement manager for Gladys, things are running smooth so far!

Hi hi! Our wedding went well! The banquet coordinator was professional and sat down with us to double check our flow of events before the actual ceremony. Our guests are glad with the good service provided by the waiters and waiteresses. Food proportion was maintained as per our food tasting and our guests 'complained' they are too full.

Generally our wedding went well and we are really pleased with MBS. Our bridal suite was extremely comfortable and we rested really well before and after ceremony.

Hi tmlyl! Congrats! Would like to check with you regarding the wine. Did you have 1 bottle of complimentary wine per table? How many bottles of wine did you top up eventually? Was yours a lunch or dinner event? MBS's wine is so ex!

i was reading a blog entry by someone who attended a wedding there.. commented only 3 out of 9 dishes tasted nice.

he wrote about tis commotion at the wedding.. the desert was served rather late & most of the guests had already left.. & the blogger's uncle made a fuss cos he missed the last train home because he waited for the desert.. he & asked the manager to arrange a cab (free) to send him home..

i hope i dun have such relatives in my wedding..

like that also can?? so funny..

Hi all,

Our coordinator is Jennifer. However, she has been mia-ing quite frequently till the point where we don't feel safe that our wedding will run smoothly under her. May I know is there any procedure involved to change our coordinator to Ethereal? Or can we just call her straight?

I also recently attended a wedding at MBS and was really glad to know that the food standard had improved. However, the soup (braised seafood broth with crab roe) was very bland and tasted pretty awful. The other guests also felt the soup was terrible. Another thing to note was the service. Perhaps due to the holiday season, many servers were students and they were young and inexperienced. As a result, service was quite terrible and servers responded slowly to requests made by the guests. Also, i was quite appalled when the server actually served the soup by carrying the bowls up and pouring the soup into it(which is not the normal procedure whereby servers had to place one hand behind their waist and pour the soup into separate bowls). In the process of doing this action, I actually saw the ladle touching her fingers, which was unhygienic and frankly, even before tasting it, I wasn't very keen to drink the soup anymore. The bowls clanked pretty loudly too when she placed the bowls back on the table.

Overall though, the food was ok. Just that service definitely needs plenty of improvement.

Hi All,

We booked our package some 18months ago and held our wedding lunch banquet on 18th Nov 2012 which was a Sunday. Our coordinator was initially Gladys who Handed over to Jeremy after she left. Both were most professional.

Overall, it has been a most pleasant experience from start to finish.

PRE DINNER
1. I admit it was sometimes challenging to get the coordinators and email response can be slow. However as the wedding date approached, Jeremy was prompt in reply of the emails and SMS-es. To be fair, the were no delays with regards to the prep and no last minute changes on the part of the hotel. All the promises were delivered. Indeed Jeremy tried his best to accede to our requests even the last minute ones which made things a lot easier for us.

2. We particularly enjoyed the food tasting. Many had told us not to expect much in terms of the food quality but we were surprised by the quality and quantity of the MBS food. I must say that the actual day food tasted as good as if not better than food tasting.

3. Our Pre wedding shots at sky park a few weeks befre the actual wedding was also a great experience and only made possible with the help of Jeremy,

WEDDING BANQUET PROPER
1. Bridal suite was lovely, high floor, good view, lotsa space for makeup to be done in the room. There were 2-3 concurrent make up going on for the bride, mothers, etc and yet there was ample space for other helpers to sit around and chill. The in room dining vouchers were also most useful.

2. Most guests liked the food, some even went as far as to say it was one of the nicest ballroom food they have eaten. One of our friends signed the MBS wedding package after our wedding and even skipped the food tasting as they had been sufficiently impressed with the MBS food at our wedding.

3. One of the reasons why I felt our wedding went quite smoothly was because we held ours on a Sunday lunch. There was only one other wedding happening concurrently with ours and so most of the staff at our wedding were experienced and hence minimal glitches. I was told that very night, there were another 6 wedding dinners, I can only imagine his stretched the staff are and hence u would expect service quality to drop and likewise food quality. Just my 2 cents worth.

3. AV support was fantastic as MBS had proper AV area and crew to support the wedding, as we had special performance items and a number of montages, this was quite important.

4. We had a golf buggie go up and down the long corridor as our wedding ballroom, Smpor Junior ballroom was right at the end of the long corridor so having the buggie for a small fee to fetch our elderly guests up and down was most helpful.

5. All in all, we had a smooth wedding, credit to all the staff and crew who helped us on that day and special mention to Jeremy who popped in ever so often on the actual day to make sure things went well.

POST WEDDING
1. Nothing much to say here except all went well and smooth till checkout.

2. I actually booked a few extra rooms for my family and friends and the hotel was kind enough to upgrade my guests' rooms so that they could be in the same tower as the bridal suite n tower 1 which was a much shorter walk to the ballrooms as well.

3. I actually lost my IPad at the reception at checkout and the hotel dutifully retrieved it for me and safe kept it till I came back to look for it. That's why I am able to write this post on my iPad. Special thanks !

ALL IN ALL, thumbs up and I would recommend MBS if u r considering it as ur wedding venue

It's simpor ballroom on level 4. By the way they don't provide a car to ferry you over. But they provide a butler to move your things over, you will have to walk over yourself...

haha lynnwei, i don't mean a car to fetch you from the hotel to the banquet. It's from your house to the hotel. the wedding package from the wedding show included this limo service to pick the couple up from the house to the hotel. so i just wanna find out what car they are providing.
btw, how many tables did you have? cuz the ones i've seen usually had 1 screen in front and 1 screen at the back. but yours has both in the front. can the pple at the back see?

I've signed up with them :) Coordinator Jennifer, so far so good! I'm glad to have choosen them (did my DnD there 2 years back as well).

Hi, I recently got my package from MBS! I suggest you email them directly as they sometimes have pretty good promotions!
I was fortunate enough to catch them during their small wedding show and got discount off the total f&b package! And that was a major factor that I went with them . Otherwise, I would have booked with sheraton.

Food wise, they themselves don't dare to even verbally or in email, guarantee me the food will be befitting of their name.... so im taking a huge risk by booking them. .but hopefully food will be ok!! If its not ok, all the guests will be so upset with me :eek::eek::eek:

I got 50 tables and thats a 8K or 10K deposit I think. if u are booking over 45 tables, you actually have alot of bargaining power so feel free to bargain bargain bargain for more perks! Must be very thick skin! Haha

Hi guys just to check...does anyone knows if MBS are flexible if we are bringing in our own hard liquors? Eg .is there a standard size bottle or can it be like those 3 litre kind which some hotels do accept? Kindly advice.... Cheerz

Mbs is v sticky on liquors and wine...they charge corkage fees... negotiate with them. Keep negotiating with them with very thick skin. Thats what we did.
