Make up trial - when do people usually do it?

make up trial is usually done before the shoot. it's like a way for you to sample/ test if you like the makeup or hair before you engage the MUA. i think some are free, while some you have to pay a small token sum.
Assume i decide to use my own make up artiste on actual day wedding, do i still need the trial make up?
I think you said its trial for photoshoot right? So i guess i still need to trial right?
But after the trial, its damn nice then should not waste it right..... i feel wasteful if just make up and wash away.

Hee, then go somewhere and take some photos. My own trial was very simple becoz my MUA said that it's a chance to "communicate" and I wasn't wearing anything fanciful that day when I did my trial. Guess it's just an excuse lah. Some brides top up more for the trial to have an ROM look. Depends on the bridal shop or MUA I think.

I decided to do a trial even if it meant paying extra, because I wanted to make sure I liked the MUA's style. It's also a chance to try out different hairstyles so that on the actual day you save time and stress :) however, if you already have a regular MUA who knows your style then maybe you can skip the trial. If you are still looking around then trial is good, and do it maybe 3-4 months before your wedding so that in case you decide to look some more, you still have time.

The make up trial is usually done before the photoshoot. It allows the MUA to understand what sort of make up will suit your personality - she may attempt a few different styles on you to understand your preference and to see which style best fit your personality and gown design. For example, some people prefer lighter make up as they want something simple and natural whereas a more glam look may require bolder colours. The trial session allows you and your MUA to agree upon a certain look for your photoshoot day as well as your wedding AD so that no time is wasted on those days. If your MUA also styles your hair, the trial session will similarly be an opportunity to try out and decide which hairstyles to go for eventually. Hope this helps! :)
